Bulgaria In The Eurovision Song Contest 2007
Bulgaria participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Water" written and performed by Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov. The Bulgarian broadcaster Bulgarian National Television (BNT) organised the national final ''Bŭlgarskata pesen v „Evroviziya 2007”'' in order to select the Bulgarian entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. A total of 21 entries were selected to participate in the national final which consisted of two shows: a semi-final and a final, held on 3 February 2007 and 24 February 2007, respectively. Eighteen entries competed in the semi-final and the top nine songs as determined by a twelve-member jury panel qualified to the final alongside three pre-qualified songs. In the final, public televoting exclusively selected "Voda" performed by Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov as the winning entry with 31,376 votes. Elitsa & Stoyan
Elitsa and Stoyan ( bg, Елица и Стоян) are a Bulgarian music duo. In 2007, Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov were the entry for Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Their 5th place with the song "Water", was the highest Bulgaria had placed until the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. In March 2013 the duo were selected to represent Bulgaria for a second time at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, in Malmö, Sweden. Aksinia Chenkova (Bulgarian, Аксиния Ченкова) is a Bulgarian music producer and performer with several national music awards. Biography Chenkova, born in Svishtov, Bulgaria, became popular after taking part in the Bulgarian version of the reality show ''Star Academy'' in 2005 on Nova TV. She was the first person evicted from the show, but later became one of the most successful participants. Vassil Naydenov (Cyrillic: Васил Найденов) is a Bulgarian singer-songwriter who was popular in his native country and the Eastern bloc during the late 1970s and 1980s. Petia Pavlova (Bulgarian: Петя Павлова), known mononymously as Petia, is a singer-songwriter and actress. In 1997 she became the face of Pepe Jeans London and the first Bulgarian pop artist with a song, played on MTV. The release of her dance record "Good Times" was the first ever single released by a Bulgarian artist on the UK market and along with her stage and club performances established Petia as the most popular pop-dance artist in her country.
