Aksinia Chenkova
Aksinia Chenkova (Bulgarian, Аксиния Ченкова) is a Bulgarian music producer and performer with several national music awards. Biography Chenkova, born in Svishtov, Bulgaria, became popular after taking part in the Bulgarian version of the reality show ''Star Academy'' in 2005 on Nova TV. She was the first person evicted from the show, but later became one of the most successful participants. Career Her first music single, "To love you like I do"("Да те обича като мен"), was released in 2007 and became a hit, bringing her to the top of several radio and TV stations playlists. In the same year, she took part in Eurovision Bulgaria and reached the finals. In the last round Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov won the right to represent Bulgaria with their song "Water". Svishtov
Svishtov ( bg, Свищов ) is a town in northern Bulgaria, located in Veliko Tarnovo Province on the right bank of the Danube river opposite the Romanian town of Zimnicea. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Svishtov Municipality. The town is the second-largest in the province after the city of Veliko Tarnovo and before Gorna Oryahovitsa. Name The origins of the name Svishtov can be found in its old Bulgarian variation Sveshtniy (Свѣщний), deriving from the word ''svesht'' or ''svyasht'' (свѣщ), meaning "candle". This was due to the existence of a lighthouse in the city. The previous name Sistova was first mentioned in the peace treaty that ended the Austro-Turkish War in 1791, when Bulgaria was still under Ottoman rule. Stanislav Todorov Trifonov ( bg, Станислав Тодоров Трифонов; born 18 October 1966), known as Slavi Trifonov ( bg, Слави Трифонов), is a Bulgarian TV host, musician and politician. Trifonov is mainly active in the traditional Bulgarian folklore music genres, but he has experimented with other genres such as hip-hop in collaboration with the Australian-based producer Yasen Subev, and pop-rock and punk as a part of Ku-Ku Band ( bg, Ку-Ку Бенд). ''VIP Brother 4'', also referred to as ''VIP Brother 2012'' was the fourth season of the reality show ''VIP Brother'' in Bulgaria and the ninth season of the '' Big Brother'' format overall. It commenced on Nova Television on September 16, 2012 and lasted for two months, ending on November 17, 2012. It was immediately followed by an All-Stars edition. Eurovision Song Contest 2008
The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Belgrade, Serbia, following the country's victory at the with the song "Molitva" by Marija Šerifović. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the contest was held at the Belgrade Arena, and (for the first time) consisted of two semi-finals on 20 and 22 May, and a final on 24 May 2008. The three live shows were presented by Serbian television presenter Jovana Janković and musician Željko Joksimović. Forty-three countries participated in the contest, the highest ever number of participants in the contest beating the record of forty-two set the year before. Azerbaijan and San Marino participated for the first time, while Austria did not participate, mainly due to questions on the semi-final organisation as well as the politicization of the contest.
