Bula (band)
Bula is a Brazilian alternative rock band from Santos, São Paulo, originally composed by former members of the bands Charlie Brown Jr. and A Banca. History The band was conceived in mid-2014 by the remaining members of A Banca (with the exception of Thiago Castanho), formed in April of the previous year by former members of Charlie Brown Jr. after the death of its vocalist Chorão; however, A Banca only lasted for five months due to the suicide of its frontman, Champignon. Guitarist/lead vocalist Marcão, bassist Helena "Lena" Papini and drummer Bruno Graveto teamed up to continue making music, dubbing their new group "Bula" in reference both to the papal bull and the seal used to authenticate it, the ''Bulla (seal), bulla''; as Marcão explained, all of the bandmembers "have their fates sealed together as in a pact". Graveto's stay on the band was short-lived though, as he eventually got busy with other commitments with pop rock band Strike, and was replaced by André Pinguim. ... Santos, São Paulo
Santos (, ''Saints'') is a municipality in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, founded in 1546 by the Portuguese nobleman Brás Cubas. Thiago Raphael Castanho (born February 8, 1975) is a Brazilian guitarist, record producer, painter and sculptor, best known for being a founding member of alternative rock bands Charlie Brown Jr., Aliados, A Banca and O Legado, and for his subsequent work with Ira! and Capital Inicial. Biography Thiago Raphael Castanho was born in Santos, São Paulo on February 8, 1975, and would learn how to play the guitar with 13 years old, encouraged by a sister. Around 1988 he began performing in his first musical groups, meeting his future Charlie Brown Jr. bandmate Pinguim Ruas through one of them. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. Lollapalooza (Lolla) is an annual American four-day music festival held in Grant Park in Chicago. It originally started as a touring event in 1991 but several years later made Chicago the permanent location for the annual music festival. Music genres include but are not limited to alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop, and electronic dance music. Lollapalooza has also featured visual arts, nonprofit organizations, and political organizations. The festival, held in Grant Park, hosts an estimated 400,000 people each July and sells out annually.
