The Dewan Rakyat (English: 'House of Representatives'; ) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament, the federal legislature of Malaysia. The chamber and its powers are established by Article 44 of the Constitution of Malaysia. Mutang Tagal
Mutang Tagal (5 October 1954 – 10 May 2024) was a Malaysian politician, lawyer and businessman who had served as 20th President of the Dewan Negara and Senator from February to his death in office in May 2024 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bukit Mas from April 1982 to October 1990. He was Member of the Supreme Council of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), a component party of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and formerly Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions. He is the second shortest-serving President of the Dewan Negara after Syed Sheh Barakbah after serving in the position for only about 3 months. Dato Henry Sum Agong (born 18 February 1946) is a Malaysian politician who served as the Deputy Minister of Transport in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Wee Ka Siong from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and the Deputy Minister of Rural Development II in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Abdul Latiff Ahmad from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021.
