Bugge Wesseltoft
Jens Christian Bugge Wesseltoft (born 1 February 1964) is a Norwegian jazz pianist, composer, and producer, son of jazz guitarist Erik Wesseltoft. Career In 1989, Wesseltoft collaborated with the Knut Riisnæs Quartet and was soon after contacted by Arild Andersen to join in on commissioned work for Vossajazz—released on the album ''Sagn'' (1990)—and the follow-up ''Arv'' (1993). He worked with Jan Garbarek on his ''Molde Canticle'', a commission from Moldejazz, released on the 1990 album ''I Took Up the Runes''. Wesseltoft had an impact on the Norwegian jazz scene at the beginning of the 1990s while going through a transition from Nordic jazz traditions, exemplified by the ECM label, to a style sometimes referred to as "future jazz" or nu jazz. David Buggé
David Anthony Bowdell Buggé (born 12 December 1956) is an English banker and former first-class cricketer. Buggé was born in the Colony of Aden in December 1956. He was educated in England at Cranleigh School, before going up to Oriel College, Oxford. While studying at Oxford, he made a single appearance in first-class cricket for Oxford University against Gloucestershire at Oxford in 1977. After graduating from Oxford, Buggé became a banker. Peder Olivarius Bugge
Peder Olivarius Bugge (2 December 1764 – 6 December 1849) was a Norwegian priest and politician. He was the bishop of the Diocese of Nidaros from 1804 until 1842. Biography Peder Olivarius Bugge was born at Holt, Aust-Agder, Holt in Aust-Agder, Nedenes county, Norway. He was the son of the parish priest Søren Bugge (1721–94) and Gidsken Edvardine Røring (1724–93). After four years of schooling in Bergen, he attended Kristiansand Cathedral School. He graduated from the University of Copenhagen (cand.theol. 1786, Magister degree, magister 1787). He was a priest in various parishes in Sjælland, Jylland, and Vest-Agder, Lista before being appointed to the post of Bishop of the Diocese of Nidaros, Diocese of Trondhjem when he was only 40 years old in 1804. Sophus Bugge
Elseus Sophus Bugge (5 January 1833 – 8 July 1907) was a Norwegian philologist and linguist. His scholarly work was directed to the study of runic inscriptions and Norse philology. Bugge is best known for his theories and his work on the runic alphabet and the ''Poetic Edda'' and ''Prose Edda''. Background Elseus Sophus Bugge was born in Larvik, in Vestfold county, Norway. His ancestors had been merchants, ship owners and captains of the Larvik for several generations. Thomas Bugge (astronomer)
Thomas Bugge (12 October 1740 – 15 January 1815) was a Danish astronomer, mathematician and surveyor. He succeeded Christian Horrebow as professor of astronomy at the University of Copenhagen in 1777. His triangulation surveys of Denmark carried out under the auspices of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences were instrumental in creating the first precise maps of Denmark. He served as president of the Royal Danish Society for Agriculture (1773–1783), director of Den Almindelige Enkekasse (1782–), secretary of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences (1801–1815) and three one-year terms as rector of the University of Copenhagen. Robin og Bugge ('Robin and Bugge') is a Norwegian pop and rap duo composed of Robin Sharma and Thomas Bugge - the former originating from Manglerud, the latter Abildsø - both neighborhoods of Oslo, Norway.
