Buduruvagala
Buduruwagala is an ancient buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. The complex consists of seven statues and belongs to the Mahayana school of thought. The statues date back to the 10th century. The gigantic Buddha statue still bears traces of its original stuccoed robe and a long streak of orange suggests it was once brightly painted. The central of the three figures to the Buddha's right is thought to be the Buddhist mythological figure-the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. To the left of this white painted figure is a female figure in the thrice-bent posture, which is thought to be his consort-Tara. Name Buduruvagala means "the rock of Buddhist Sculptures". Maligawila Buddha Statue
The Maligawila Buddha statue is a standing figure of the Buddha in Sri Lanka, which was carved out of a large limestone rock during the 7th century by a prince named Aggabodhi. It is the tallest free-standing ancient statue of the Buddha found in the country. It had been broken into several pieces by the time it was found in 1951. The statue was reconstructed and raised again in 1980 under the direction of the then president Ranasinghe Premadasa. Buduruwagala Museum
Buduruwagala Archaeological Museum is a regional museum located in Buduruwagala, Sri Lanka. It was founded in 1988 and owned by Department of Archaeology of Sri Lanka. The museum is used to show archaeological objects found in Buduruwagala area and also exhibits relics belonging to Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy periods. Yudaganawa
Yudaganawa, is a town situated in Buttala Divisional Secretariat, Uva province, Sri Lanka. Yudaganawa Chaitya The Chaitya at Yudaganawa has a circumference of and was initially thought to be a Kota Vehera - a large stupa built half way with a smaller stupa built on top of that. Recent archaeological excavations however have proved that this was not a Kota Vehera but at one time was a complete stupa. According to the historic chronicle, ''Rajaveliya'', this is the location where two brothers, Prince Dutugemunu and Prince Saddatissa had a battle over the throne of the kingdom.
