The ''Budhill Singles Club'' is a collection of songs released by The Fratellis from 2006 to 2008. The name "Budhill" refers to the area of Springboig, Glasgow where Barry was born. They also visit Budhill Square during the video for Creepin' Up the Backstairs. Songs released to the ''Budhill Singles Club'' are generally acoustic or alternate versions of album tracks, although in some cases demos, live versions and unreleased songs have been included. Background and release The ''Budhill Singles Club'' is currently split into 2 volumes, each volume corresponding to the 2 albums released by the band, ''Costello Music'' and '' Here We Stand''. The volumes started before the release of their album and have continued to have songs added to them. However, there has been no update to the second volume for over a year. ''Costello Music'' is the debut album by Scottish indie rock band the Fratellis. It was released on 11 September 2006 on Fallout Records and Drop the Gun Recordings and on 13 March 2007 on Cherrytree Records in the US and was a success, peaking at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and spent 83 weeks in the Top 100. It debuted behind ''FutureSex/LoveSounds'' by Justin Timberlake and stayed in the No. 2 position for two more weeks, this time behind ''Ta-Dah'' by Scissor Sisters. Whistle For The Choir
"Whistle for the Choir" is a song by Scottish rock band the Fratellis. It was released on 27 November 2006 as the band's third single and reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart, marking their second UK top-10 single. In the band's native Scotland, the song reached number two, becoming their second song to reach that position after "Chelsea Dagger". The working title for the song was "Knickers in a Handbag", named after a line from Scottish comedian Billy Connolly. The artwork points toward the old name by showing a girl on the cover handling a pair of knickers above a handbag. It was released on 12 March 2007, in CD, 7-inch vinyl, and DVD single formats. A limited edition USB stick was later released, containing a weblink to an exclusive documentary as well as a competition to see the Fratellis in New York City on 23 March 2007. 7,000 copies of the USB stick format were sold, although this format isn't chart-eligible. "A Heady Tale" is the third single by Scotland, Scottish rock band, The Fratellis from their second album, ''Here We Stand (The Fratellis album), Here We Stand''. It was released on 22 December 2008. This song is 1 of the 4 tracks on ''Here We Stand (The Fratellis album), Here We Stand'' to have a heavy use of piano (the other 3 being "Mistress Mabel", "Milk And Money" & "Moriaty's Last Stand"). The B-sides "Mon Yous, Mon us but no' Them" and "When All the Lights Go Out" were also piano intensive. Jon Fratelli has said that the B-Side "Lonesome Anti Christmas Blues" is the "most depressing Christmas song written". The CD version of the single was released as a limited edition (limited to 1,000 copies) CD with a Christmas card.
