"A Heady Tale" is the third single by Scotland, Scottish rock band, The Fratellis from their second album, ''Here We Stand (The Fratellis album), Here We Stand''. It was released on 22 December 2008. This song is 1 of the 4 tracks on ''Here We Stand (The Fratellis album), Here We Stand'' to have a heavy use of piano (the other 3 being "Mistress Mabel", "Milk And Money" & "Moriaty's Last Stand"). The B-sides "Mon Yous, Mon us but no' Them" and "When All the Lights Go Out" were also piano intensive. Jon Fratelli has said that the B-Side "Lonesome Anti Christmas Blues" is the "most depressing Christmas song written". The CD version of the single was released as a limited edition (limited to 1,000 copies) CD with a Christmas card. Jon Fratelli
Jon Fratelli (born John Paul Lawler; 4 March 1979) is a Scottish musician and singer-songwriter, best known for his work with the band The Fratellis. Alongside his work with The Fratellis, Lawler has played in a band called Codeine Velvet Club and as a solo artist. Early years Lawler hails from Cumbernauld, but later moved to Glasgow. He attended St. Maurice's High School and went to college before dropping out within three hours. Before joining the Fratellis, he played in various bands including an Oasis and Blur covers band. The song was first introduced by the band at their Queen Margaret Union show on 22 February 2008 as the first song on the set list.
