Budapesti VSC
Budapesti Vasutas Sport Club-Zugló is a professional football club based in Zugló, Budapest, Hungary, that competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság III. The club was founded in 1911. Its football section became closed in 2001, but has now reopened, while other sections that are still operational are table tennis, wrestling, water polo. The table tennis department won the European Cup of 1980 and several national championships. The football team reached in the years 1996 and 1997 twice the Hungarian Cup final and was runner up in the national championship in 1996. History On 18 July 2012, BVSC started an adult team after 10 years of pause. The team are going to compete in the Budapest Labdarugó Szövetség IV. In 2019, the club were promoted to the Budapest bajnokság I after winning the 2018-19 Budapest bajnokság II. Szőnyi úti Stadion
Szőnyi úti Stadion is a sports stadium in Zugló, Budapest, Hungary. The stadium is home to the association football side BVSC Budapest. The stadium has a capacity of 12,000. History On 2 April 2015, three new artificial pitches were inaugurated at the sports centre of the club. One of the pitches is 40 x 60 metres and the two other pitches are 22 x 40 metres in size. The cost of the construction of the new pitches was 150 million Hungarian forints. The investment was financed by the Hungarian Football Federation (70%) and by the Zugló Local Government. Nemzeti Bajnokság II
NB II, currently known as the Merkantil Bank Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of Hungarian football. At the end of the 2004–05 season, the tournament format was changed from one division of 14 teams to two divisions: ''Keleti'' (Eastern) and ''Nyugati'' (Western), each with 16 teams. In 2013 the format was changed and there is one division again with 16 teams, and then 20 teams from 2015. The champion and the runner-up will ascend to the first division while the two lowest teams in NB II are relegated to NB III. Format On 2 March 2017, the Hungarian Football Federation announced that the number of the teams in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II will not be reduced to 12. The 1996–97 Hungarian Cup (Hungarian: Samsung Magyar Kupa) had involved professional teams at all levels throughout the country.
