Beddau ( en, Graves cy, Y Beddau) is a large former mining village (and electoral ward) situated within the South Wales Valleys Davies (2008), page 507. around from Llantrisant and from the larger town of Pontypridd in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. Governance Beddau was also the name of a county borough electoral ward within the Llantrisant community, bordered to the east by the Tyn-y-nant ward, which included Tynant. Gethin Jenkins
Gethin Jenkins (born 17 November 1980) is a Welsh former rugby union player. He won 129 international caps for Wales and five for the British & Irish Lions. Jenkins was the record cap holder for Wales until he was overtaken by Alun Wyn Jones on 29 September 2019. He is the sixth most-capped player in rugby union history and the most capped front row forward. He is one of a small group of Welsh players to have won three Grand Slams including Gerald Davies, Gareth Edwards, JPR Williams, Ryan Jones, Adam Jones and Alun Wyn Jones. Paul John (rugby)
Paul John (born 25 January 1970 in Pontypridd) is a former Wales international rugby union player with 10 caps. He is the son of Dennis John, former Wales head coach. Playing career A scrum-half, he played his club rugby for Cardiff RFC, and then Pontypridd RFC, where he was captain. John started playing for Llantwit Fardre Cardiff from 1986/87 -1990/91. He won 10 Welsh caps, making his debut against Tonga in 1994. He retired as a player in 2005. Coaching career He was, until 2010, head coach at Pontypridd. David Roberts (swimmer)
David Evan Roberts CBE (born 25 May 1980), is a Welsh swimmer. An eleven-time Paralympic gold medallist, he is one of Great Britain's most successful Paralympians ever. His achievements put him in 34th place on the all time list of Paralympic Gold Medallists Swimming career Roberts went to Llwyncrwn Primary School and moved on to Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School. Michael Owen (rugby Player)
Michael Owen (born 7 November 1980 in Pontypridd), is a former Welsh international rugby union player, who most often played Number 8, but was also versatile enough to play flanker or even lock. His ball handling was arguably his greatest asset. Kelly Morgan
Kelly Ann Aston (, born 22 May 1975) is a Welsh badminton player. She has represented Wales and Great Britain in regional and international competitions, including the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, winning gold in the 1998 Commonwealth Games, and beat world number one Ye Zhaoying of China in the 1999 IBF World Championships. Career Aston began playing badminton at age nine. Her brother, Ross, was initially trying for the Welsh national team, and she only made the team as a result of accompanying him to the trials. Neil Jenkins, (born 8 July 1971) is a Welsh former rugby union player and current coach. He played fly-half, centre, or full back for Pontypridd, Cardiff, Celtic Warriors, Wales and the British & Irish Lions. Jenkins is Wales' highest ever points-scorer and is the fourth highest on the List of leading rugby union test point scorers. He was the first player to score 1,000 points in international matches. Ellis Jenkins (born 29 April 1993) is a Welsh rugby union flanker who currently plays for the Cardiff Rugby and for the Wales national team.
