''Bryllupet'' (English: ''The Wedding'') is a 2000 Norwegian drama film directed by Leidulv Risan, starring Mads Ousdal and Susan Badrkhan. The film is about the young biochemistry student Tom (Ousdal), who falls in love with his lab partner, the Iraqi Samira (Badrkhan), and the problems caused by cultural conflict. It was a made-for-TV movie, produced by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. Leidulv Risan
Leidulv Risan (born 1948) is a Norwegian screenwriter, film director and professor at The Norwegian Filmschool at Lillehammer. Since 2005 he has been the leader for the screenwriting program at the Film School. Risan is educated at Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. After his feature film debut as director in 1981 with ''Martin'' (The Execution) he has become one of the most experienced persons in the Norwegian film industry, and directed two of the biggest Norwegian productions in the 90s, The Warrior's Heart and The Sunset Boys a.k.a. Waiting for Sunset. ''The Warrior's Heart'' was screened out of competition at the 1992 Cannes Film Festival. In 2000s he has mainly written and directed TV series. Mads Ousdal (born 8 December 1970) is a Norwegian actor. He worked as an actor at Den Nationale Scene from 1996 to 1998, at Oslo Nye Teater from 1998 to 1999, and at Nationaltheatret from 2000. He played in the film ''Detector'' from 2000 and in ''Bryllupet'' from 2000, and has participated in television series, including Wisting. Die Throw (review)
The "die throw" ( no, terningkast) is a method of review which is often used in Norway. It is characterized by the use of a white-on-red die graphic to represent the movie's rating in the review, and is similar to stars or letters used in other countries. The format was introduced by film director and then-film critic Arne Skouen, who, writing for ''Verdens Gang'' on 31 March 1952, stated the need of "having a film première characterized in a short, concise form". To do this, he used a standard die with six pips, where one marked the lowest possible rating of a film, and six marked the highest. In some cases, a die with zero pips has been used, meaning awful. Similarly, people sometimes allude to "seven pips", meaning extraordinarily good. Usage In time, the die throw spread to other parts of the media.
