Brunslar
Brunslar was a short-lived municipality in North Hessen, in the now-extinct district of Melsungen, Germany. It was established during the change of district boundaries on 1 February 1971, when the independent communities of Altenbrunslar and Neuenbrunslar fused. On the 31. December 1971 the community of Wolfershausen joined the Brunslar municipality. At the beginning, the municipality covered an area of 1271 ha, in which approx. 1300 people lived. As the village of Wolfershausen was integrated, the area expanded to 1641 ha and the population increased to approximately 2000 residents. Altenbrunslar
Altenbunslar is a small village in Hesse, North Hesse, Germany. It is part of the town Felsberg, Hesse, Felsberg. Geology The bedrock is composed of Triassic Buntsandstein. It is so-called because it is composed of different-coloured sandstones. The rolling hills that are caused by the nearly even weathering of the sandstones, are punctuated by steep basaltic outcrops, which are the remains of Neogene (Miocene) volcanic necks (i.e. the Volcanic cone, cone of the volcano has been Erosion, eroded which left behind the harder central region (neck) where the magma previously made its way to the surface). Wolfershausen
Wolfershausen is one of the sixteen constituent communities that form the town of Felsberg, Hesse, Felsberg in Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Hesse, North Hesse, Germany. Geography The boundary of the village encompasses an area of about , in which approximately 760 people live. The village is situated on the western (cut bank, cut) bank of the river Eder (Fulda), Eder. To the west of the village is the Lotterberg, a volcano that was active in the Miocene and became extinct . The Eder converges with the river Fulda (river), Fulda just downstream at Edermünde. History Wolfershausen was first mentioned in 1061 in a document from the Fulda monastery. Melsungen
Melsungen () is a small climatic spa town in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse, Germany. In 1987, the town hosted the 27th ''Hessentag'' state festival. Geography Melsungen lies on the river Fulda in the North Hesse Highlands. The streams Pfieffe and Kehrenbach, flow into the Fulda in the town. A few kilometres downstream, the river Eder confluences into the Fulda. Location The nearest large towns are Kassel (downstream, about 22 km to the north) and Bad Hersfeld (upstream, about 32 km to the southeast). Constituent communities Melsungen comprises several smaller communities. Felsberg (Hessen)
Felsberg is a town in the Schwalm-Eder district about south of Kassel. Geography The landscape around Felsberg is marked by hills and small lakes, as well as the remains of gravel quarrying. As part of the West Hesse Depression, it lies in a sunken area that was formed by volcanic activity in the Tertiary subera. The change from partly basaltic hills to smooth river valleys is striking. While the river valleys are covered by fluvial sediments, fertile loess beds can be found higher up. The river Eder flows through Felsberg's municipal area. Near Gensungen lies the Heiligenberg ("Holy Mountain") with the ruins of the Heiligenburg Castle.
