Bruno Levy
Bruno Lévy (born 3 August 1979) is a French artist living in New York City. His artwork deals primarily with creating dynamic relationships between audio and video. He is best known for creating interactive video paintings and 3D video installations, as part of the new media collectivSWEATSHOPPE which he co-founded in 2009 with Blake Shaw. He has shot and directed music videos for bands such as The Walkmen and Modeselektor. In 2007, Bruno Levy shifted his focus to tattooing. Early life Levy was born on 3 August 1979 in Paris, France. He graduated from New York University in 2001 with a degree in photography. Work He began experimenting with manipulating video in real-time shortly after graduating, under the acronym SQUARESQUARE. The Walkmen
The Walkmen is an American indie rock band. Active from 2000 to 2013, they are known as part of the 2000s-era post-punk revival in New York City, particularly for their critically acclaimed single "The Rat (song), The Rat." The band is made up of drummer Matt Barrick, bassist/organist Peter Matthew Bauer, frontman Hamilton Leithauser, guitarist Paul Maroon, and multi-instrumentalist Walter Martin (musician), Walter Martin—all former members of Jonathan Fire*Eater and The Recoys. Modeselektor
Modeselektor is a German electronic music duo consisting of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. History The group members met in 1992 in Berlin with group member Szary performing live acid house music at illegal underground parties, under the moniker Fundamental Knowledge. The group says, "After the Wall came down, everywhere in Germany and especially East Germany there was a lot of chaos, anarchy." Video scratching is a video editing technique used within the music industry. It is a variation of the audio editing technique scratching. It is typically used in either music videos or live performances, with one or more individuals manipulating a video sample to make it follow the rhythm of whatever music is playing.
