Bruce Zabriski
Bruce Zabriski (born August 3, 1957) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour, European Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Zabriski joined the European Tour in 1985 and would play on the Tour until 1987. His best finish came at the Benson & Hedges International Open where he finished in a tie for 6th. He also recorded his best finish on the Order of Merit that year, finishing 103rd. Zabriski joined the PGA Tour in 1988, earning his Tour card through qualifying school. He struggled in his rookie year and his best finish came at the Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic where he finished in a tie for twelfth, a career best. He played in five Nationwide Tour events in 1991 where he recorded three top-10 finishes including a win at the Ben Hogan Panama City Beach Classic. He rejoined the PGA Tour the following year, earning his card through qualifying school. Southampton, officially the Town of Southampton, is a town in southeastern Suffolk County, New York, partly on the South Fork of Long Island. Harrison, New York
Harrison is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States, northeast of Manhattan. The population was 28,218 at the 2020 census. History Harrison was established in 1696 by a patent granted by the British government to John Harrison and three others, who had a year earlier bargained with local Native Americans to purchase an area of land above Westchester Path (an old trail that led from Manhattan to Port Chester) and below Rye Lake. Local custom holds that Harrison was given 24 hours to ride his horse around the area he could claim, and the horse couldn't swim or didn't want to get its feet wet, but this is folklore. The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. The Metropolitan PGA Championship is a golf tournament that is the section championship of the Metropolitan section of the PGA of America. It has been played annually since 1926 at a variety of courses around the New York City metropolitan area. It was considered a PGA Tour event in the 1920s and 1930s. Westchester Open
The Westchester Open is golf tournament organized by the Westchester Golf Association. It has been played annually since 1920 at member clubs in New York or Connecticut. It was considered a PGA Tour event in the 1920s and 1930s. History In 1971, the 29-year-old amateur David Ragaini played the event. Ragaini was on the Yale Bulldogs golf team during his college years and was a three-time letter winner. However, when he entered the 1971 Westchester Open he hadn't played a competitive tournament since 1964 and been working as a commercial singer for most of his career. Metropolitan Open
The Metropolitan Open is a golf tournament organized by the Metropolitan Golf Association. In the early 20th century it was one of the top events in the country and was retroactively given PGA Tour-level status. History The tournament has been played annually since 1905, and is the third oldest "open" golf tournament in the United States, after the U.S. Open and Western Open. It was staged for the first time in 1905 at Fox Hills Golf Club on Staten Island, which played the dual role of host and sponsor. Long Island PGA Championship
The Long Island PGA Championship is a professional golf tournament played on Long Island, New York. It is sponsored by the Metropolitan section of the PGA of America. The current title of the event is the MasterCard Long Island PGA Championship. History During the first half of the tournament's history, Al Brosch had great success at the event, winning the event nine times. By the end of this period, the event was jokingly referred to as a "benefit" for Brosch as he so reliably picked up the first place cheque. In 1975, it transformed into a match play event. The champion was exempt but otherwise the field was determined during a one-round qualifier. In 1978, the local supermarket King Kullen began sponsoring the tournament.
