Bruce Lloyd
Bruce Lloyd, AM (born 24 February 1937) is an Australian retired politician. He was Deputy Leader of the National Party 1987–93. Career He was the President of the Victorian Country Party 1969–71. In the 1971 by-election that followed the resignation of former Prime Minister John McEwen, he was elected to the House of Representatives as the Country Party member for Murray. On 23 July 1987, he was elected Deputy Leader of the National Party, a position in which he remained until 23 March 1993. The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for outstanding achievement and service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on the advice of the Australian Government. Ian Sinclair
Ian McCahon Sinclair (born 10 June 1929) is a former Australian politician who served as leader of the National Party from 1984 to 1989. He was a government minister under six prime ministers, and later Speaker of the House of Representatives from March to November 1998. Sinclair was born in Sydney and studied law at the University of Sydney. He later bought a farming property near Tamworth. Sinclair was elected to parliament in 1963, and added to the ministry in 1965 as part of the Menzies Government. Over the following six years, he held various portfolios under four other prime ministers. Sinclair was elected deputy leader of his party in 1971, under Anthony. Ralph James Dunnet Hunt AO (31 March 192822 May 2011) was a Deputy Leader of the National Party of Australia. Hunt was born in Narrabri, New South Wales to an established farming and grazing family, which traditions he continued after completing his schooling at The Scots College, Sydney. His mother's family, the Dunnetts, owned the ''North Western Courier'' newspaper. He was a councillor of Boomi Shire Council from 1956 to 1968 and Vice-President from 1962 to 1968. Timothy Andrew Fischer (3 May 1946 – 22 August 2019) was an Australian politician and diplomat who served as leader of the National Party from 1990 to 1999. He was Deputy Prime Minister in the Howard Government from 1996 to 1999. Fischer was born in Lockhart, New South Wales. He served with the Australian Army in the Vietnam War. Charles William Blunt (born 19 January 1951) is a former Australian politician who served as leader of the National Party of Australia from 1989 to 1990. Early life Blunt was born in Sydney and graduated from the University of Sydney with a degree in economics. After working in various positions he was hired as New South Wales State Director of the National Party. Politics At a by-election on 18 February 1984, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the Division of Richmond in northern New South Wales, despite having had no previous connections with the area.
