Brotherhood (British TV Series)
Brotherhood is a British sitcom that has broadcast on Comedy Central since 2 June 2015. It was cancelled after one series. Premise The series centres around three brothers: Dan (age 25), Toby (aged 23) and Jamie (aged 14). Since their mother died six months before the events of the series, Dan and Toby have become the guardians of Jamie who hasn't said a word since the death. The two also have to get their aunt Debbie off their backs as she believes that she should be the one caring for Jamie. Cast Main cast * Ben Ashenden as Dan, the eldest of the three brothers. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. Martin Dennis
Martin Dennis is a Canadian-born British television director. He won the BAFTA for situation comedy in 2005, having been nominated in 1989, 1996, and 1998. Early life and education Dennis was born in Toronto and lived there briefly until his family moved to Surrey. He attended the University of Birmingham. Career Dennis joined the BBC in 1980 as a runner. He soon became a production manager and was part of the crew behind '' 'Allo, 'Allo'', '' Don't Wait Up'', and ''Hi-De-Hi''. Ben Ashenden is a British-Irish actor, writer and comedian. He is half of the double-act, The Pin (comedy act), The Pin, with Alexander Owen, with whom he has made four series for BBC Radio 4, picking up nominations at the 2017 Writers' Guild of Great Britain, Writers' Guild Awards. and Audio and Radio Industry Awards, Radio Academy Awards, and winning the BBC Radio Award for Best Comedy.
