Brooklyn Don Diva
''Brooklyn's Don Diva'' is the first mixtape by American rapper Foxy Brown. Released on May 13, 2008, it was intended to be the follow-up to 2001's '' Broken Silence''. According to ''Rolling Stone'' magazine, the album would be released prior to '' Black Roses'', the album that she has been working on since 2004 and was recorded in Chung King Studios in New York City. Several tracks ("When the Lights Go Out", "We Don't Surrender", "Star Cry") have been released to iTunes, as intended singles to promote the album. Three of the albums tracks were produced by Polish beatmaker Matheo. The album's release had been delayed multiple times, primarily due to Foxy Brown's jail sentence. It sold only about 30,000 copies in the US. Chart performance The album peaked at No. 83 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart, No. 8 on the Independent Albums chart, and No. 5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand (born September 6, 1978), better known by her stage name Foxy Brown, is an American rapper. After signing to Def Jam in 1996, she released her debut album, '' Ill Na Na'', later that year on November 19, 1996. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA and has sold over 7 million copies worldwide. She was also part of the hip hop supergroup the Firm, along with Nas, AZ and Cormega (who was later replaced by Nature). The Firm's sole album arrived in 1997 and was released by Dr. Dre's Aftermath Records. Carlton Errington Grant (born 30 May 1969), better known as Spragga Benz, is a Jamaican dancehall deejay. Career He began his career around 1991. He was once known to his friends as "Spaghetti" (tall and slim), but this was later shortened to Spragga. The Benz in his name comes from the sound system for which he used to work for, L.A.
