Broadmeadows Valley Trail
__NOTOC__ The Broadmeadows Valley Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Following the path The north end of the trail is most readily accessed from Craigieburn railway station. The trail starts at the intersection of Stockton Street and Aitken Creek close to the station. Follow Aitken Creek for 1.8 km until you reach the back entrance gate of the Craigieburn Public Golf course. Rather than continuing through the golf course along Aitken Creek, proceed in a southerly direction via Axminster Drv. It soon forms a path made out of the ends of a series of cull de sacs. About a 1 km from Aitken Creek a small wetland appears. Follow the trail here until a large solitary palm comes into view. Head for the palm, then continue along a short goat track on its far side, that crosses a narrow easement. Pick up the path on the other side of the easement. Craigieburn Railway Line
The Craigieburn railway line (previously the Broadmeadows line and Essendon line) is a commuter rail passenger train service operating between Craigieburn in the northern suburbs and Flinders Street in Melbourne, Australia. The service is part of the Public Transport Victoria metropolitan rail network. Description The line rises steadily after leaving North Melbourne until after Essendon, then drops a little to cross Moonee Ponds Creek, and soon after encounters the Glenroy Bank, a continuous rising gradient of 1 in 50 for nearly that taxed locomotive-hauled trains in the days of steam. Shared Use Path
A shared-use path, mixed-use path or multi-use pathway is a path which is 'designed to accommodate the movement of pedestrians and cyclists'. Examples of shared-use paths include sidewalks designated as shared-use, bridleways and rail trails. A shared-use path typically has a surface that is asphalt, concrete or firmly packed crushed aggregate. Roxburgh Park, Victoria
Roxburgh Park is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Roxburgh Park recorded a population of 24,129 at the 2021 census. The suburb is bound by Craigieburn to the north, to the west by Aitken Boulevard skirting the Greenvale Reservoir, to the east by the Craigieburn railway line and to the south by Somerton Road.
