British–Peruvian Cultural Association
The British–Peruvian Cultural Association ( es, Asociación Cultural Peruano Británica), also known simply as the ''BRITÁNICO'', is a private non-profit cultural association in Peru that teaches the English language and promotes a cultural integration between Peru and the United Kingdom. History The association started with a building in the fourth block of Jirón Junín, part of the historic centre of Lima. In 1968, a second building was opened in Miraflores, with more buildings following afterwards. The association has seen a number of official state visits from the British royal family. In 1959, the Duchess of Kent and her daughter Alexandra visited the building leased by the association at the Jirón Camaná where its central offices, cinematheque, and central library operated. The paper was founded on 22 October 1825 by Simón Bolívar although it changed names between the following decades and it was not published continuously since its inception. Peruvian North American Cultural Institute
The Peruvian North American Cultural Institute ( es, link=no, Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano; ICPNA, ) is a binational cultural centre that teaches American English and promotes the cultural exchange between Peru and the United States. History The institute was inaugurated on June 2, 1938, through an alliance between the U.S. Embassy and a group of intellectuals, after which it acquired a building of its own in the Jirón de la Unión (No. 892) in 1942 (it would later move to the calle del Corcovado). Its opening ceremony was attended by then President Manuel Prado Ugarteche. It started publishing its own magazine three years later, directed by Estuardo Núñez Hague, and started events organising events featuring local artists, such as Fernando de Szyszlo in 1947 and Maria Reiche in 1955. Alliance Française De Lima
The Alliance Française de Lima is a non-profit, non governmental cultural and educational association in Peru. Its mission is to promote the French language and Francophone cultures in the country, as well as intercultural exchanges, within the context of the international network of the '' Alliance Française''. History The '' Alliance Française'' was founded on February 12, 1890, at the "Bomba Francia" premises. The group of French residents in Peru decided to form a committee and appointed Jean Dupeyrat as its first president. British Peruvians are Peruvians of British descent. The phrase may refer to someone born in Peru of British descent. Among European Peruvians, the British were the fifth largest group of immigrants to settle in the country after the Spanish, Germans, Italians, the Swiss or/and the French. Trujillo (; qu, Truhillu) is a city in coastal northwestern Peru and the capital of the Department of La Libertad. Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963) was an English writer and philosopher. He wrote nearly 50 books, both novels and non-fiction works, as well as wide-ranging essays, narratives, and poems. Born into the prominent Huxley family, he graduated from Balliol College, Oxford, with an undergraduate degree in English literature. Early in his career, he published short stories and poetry and edited the literary magazine ''Oxford Poetry'', before going on to publish travel writing, satire, and screenplays.
