The British Women's Ice Hockey Friendship Tournament has been running for 16 consecutive years every June in Swindon, Wiltshire, United Kingdom at the Link Centre. Swindon () is a town and unitary authority with Borough status in the United Kingdom, borough status in Wiltshire, England. The Link Centre is a leisure centre in Swindon, England. The building, owned by Swindon Borough Council and operated by Greenwich Leisure under the brand "Better", is best known for its national-sized ice rink which houses a National Ice Hockey League team, the Swindon Wildcats. Basingstoke Bison
The Basingstoke Bison are an English Ice Hockey club from Basingstoke. They currently compete in the NIHL National League and have previously been members of the Ice Hockey Superleague and its successor the Elite Ice Hockey League. History Formed in 1988 as the Basingstoke Beavers, the club became the "Bison" in 1995. Their team logo is very similar to that used by the Buffalo Sabres from 1996–2006. Joining the Superleague in 1996, the Bison dropped out in 1998 and joined the British National League. In 2003 they joined the newly formed Elite Ice Hockey League. Despite being one of the lower-budget teams in the EIHL, the Bison maintained their fan base and greatly enhanced local sponsorships and doubled their season ticket sales. Bracknell Queen Bees IHC is a women’s ice hockey club based in Bracknell, Berkshire, England. They are located at the John Nike Leisuresport complex in Bracknell. Their home ice rink is affectionately known as the Hive. The club operates three teams, which compete in various levels of the English Ice Hockey Association, EIHA’s Women's National Ice Hockey League (WNIHL): The Queen Bees compete in the WNIHL Elite. The Fire Bees compete in the WNIHL League. The Ice Bees compete in the WNIHL Division U16 South. The Queen Bees club was founded November 1987, when the rink at Bracknell opened. Coventry Phoenix are Coventry's female ice hockey team. The team was established in 2003, and currently competes in Division One (South) of the British Women's Leagues. Oxford Ice Rink
Oxford Ice Rink is a 56 × 26m ice rink located on Oxpens Road in Oxford, England. It is a ten-minute walk from Oxford city centre and railway station. In 1980, money was raised by the Oxford Ice Skating Trust (OXIST) for the construction of a new ice rink — a project that was taken over by the Oxford City Council, who continue to own and manage the premises. The rink, designed by Nicholas Grimshaw, was built on Oxpens Road (known as Nun's Walk prior to 1850) and opened in 1984 with an ice hockey match between the Oxford City Stars and the Oxford University Ice Hockey Club. It looks like a ship, thanks to two 30-metre masts at each end. The north end of the building is fully glazed, allowing plenty of natural light into the rink. The rink offers public and disco.
