Hartley Power (14 March 1894 – 29 January 1966) was an American-born British film and television actor, who made his Broadway debut in ''Dolly Jordan'' in 1922. He is best remembered for two roles: "Sylvester Kee" the ventriloquist who is shot and almost killed by "Maxwell Frere" (Michael Redgrave) as a rival for his dummy's "affections" in ''Dead of Night'' and Mr. Hennessy, the chief of the news agency that Gregory Peck worked for in ''Roman Holiday ''Roman Holiday'' is a 1953 American romantic comedy film directed and produced by William Wyler. Sam Hardy (actor)
Samuel B. Hardy (March 21, 1883 – October 16, 1935) was an American stage and film actor who appeared in feature films during the silent and early sound eras. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Hardy attended Yale but left there to become an actor on stage. He entered the world of film with Biograph Studios. Hardy appeared in about 85 movies between 1915 and 1935, he was often in comedic roles. His best-known role to modern audiences is perhaps Charles Weston, the theatrical agent, in the 1933 film classic ''King Kong''. Hardy appeared opposite Marie Cahill in the 1910 play ''Judy Forgot'' and the 1915 film adaptation. Hardy became ill while he was working in the film ''Shoot the Chutes'', starring Eddie Cantor. He did not survive emergency surgery at a hospital and died of intestinal problems. Cicely Courtneidge
Dame Esmerelda Cicely Courtneidge, (1 April 1893 – 26 April 1980) was an Australian-born British actress, comedian and singer. The daughter of the producer and playwright Robert Courtneidge, she was appearing in his productions in the West End by the age of 16, and was quickly promoted from minor to major roles in his Edwardian musical comedies. After the outbreak of the First World War, her father had a series of failures and temporarily withdrew from production. No other producers offered the young Courtneidge leading roles in musical comedies, and she turned instead to the music hall, learning her craft as a comedian. In 1916 she married the actor and dancer Jack Hulbert, with whom she formed a professional as well as a matrimonial partnership that lasted until his death 62 years later. ''Aunt Sally'' is a 1933 British musical comedy film directed by Tim Whelan and starring Cicely Courtneidge, Sam Hardy and Phyllis Clare. Allan Jeayes
Allan John Jeayes (19 January 1885 – 20 September 1963) was an English stage and film actor. Jeayes was born in London Borough of Barnet, Barnet, Hertfordshire, the son of Isaac Herbert Jeayes, archivist and Assistant Keeper of Manuscripts at the British Museum. Jeayes was educated at Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood, Merchant Taylor's School, and was originally a farmer, before making his stage debut in 1906. Jeayes made his film debut in the 1918 film ''Nelson'' as Sir William Hamilton (diplomat), William Hamilton. He appeared in a number of films by producer Alexander Korda. His last film appearance was in 1962's ''Reach for Glory''. He starred as Howard Joyce in the original 1927 Broadway production of ''The Letter (play), The Letter'' and played Sir Lawrence Wargarve in the 1943 London production of ''And Then There Were None (1943 play), And Then There Were None''. Lilian Oldland
Lilian Mary Oldland (7 February 1903 – 29 September 1984) was an English actress who appeared in more than twenty films between 1925 and 1935. Born in Gloucester in 1903, she made her film debut in '' The Secret Kingdom'' and was soon cast as a regular in the Bindle Series of films. In 1930 she changed her name to Mary Newland and was credited as that thereafter. She made her last film, ''The Silent Passenger'', in 1935. She was married to the actor Reginald Denham, and later to MP and playwright Edward Percy Smith. Garry Marsh
Garry Marsh (21 June 1902 – 6 March 1981) was an English stage and film actor. Born Leslie Marsh Gerahty in St Margarets, Surrey, his parents were George and Laura. His elder brothers were the author Digby George Gerahty and the journalist Cecil Gerahty. Marsh began acting on the stage at the age of fifteen. He started off in films as a leading man but later became a character actor playing self-important roles. During the War he served as a Flying Officer in the RAF. In the mid-1950s, he chronicled his wartime adventures in North Africa in the memoir ''Sand in My Spinach''. Marsh married Adele Lawson in 1920 in Kensington, London. He married for the second time to Muriel Martin-Harvey in 1926 in Chelsea, London before divorcing in 1935.
