Darrell Wilkinson
Peter Edward Darrell Sheldon Wilkinson (7 August 1919 – 17 August 2009) was a leading figure in dermatology who was consultant at Aylesbury and High Wycombe, co-edited the first edition of Rook's 1968 '' Textbook of Dermatology'' and founded the International Foundation for Dermatology in 1987. Born in the south of England into a medical family, Wilkinson was educated in the classics before studying medicine in London. He served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, after which he pursued a medical career in London and later High Wycombe. Wilkinson made some of the earliest dermatological descriptions of skin diseases including perioral dermatitis, photocontact dermatitis and Sneddon-Wilkinson disease. Described as "one of the greatest dermatologists of our time", he became president of the British Association of Dermatologists in 1979 and won the Sir Archibald Grey medal in 1984. Christopher Bunker
Christopher Barry Bunker, (born 22 November 1956) is a British dermatologist. Early life and education Bunker was educated at Wycliffe College, Gloucestershire, St Catharine's College, Cambridge and Westminster Hospital Medical School, London. He was trained in general medicine in London, Derby and Oxford, and received his dermatology training in London. In 1992, he received the Cambridge University Sir Walter Langdon-Brown Prize for his postgraduate MD research on CGRP in Raynaud's phenomenon. Christopher Ernest Maitland Griffiths (born June 1954) is Foundation Professor of Dermatology at the University of Manchester, Director of the Manchester Centre for Dermatology Research, and Head of the Dermatology Theme of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Manchester Biomedical Research Centre. He is an Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Griffiths graduated with a first-class degree in Anatomy from St Thomas's Hospital Medical School in 1976 and completed an MBBS in Medicine in 1979. He trained in Dermatology at St Mary's Hospital, London, where he was a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Training Fellow from 1985 to 1987. George Percival
George Hector Percival FRSE FRCPE (1902–1983) was a British dermatologist, academic author and president of the British Association of Dermatologists. Life He was born in Kirkcaldy in Fife the son of E J Percival. Percival was educated at George Watson's College in Edinburgh. He then studied Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating MB ChB He joined the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary's skin department in 1923, rising to become Consultant-in-Charge (Physician) in 1936. From 1946 he was the Grant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Edinburgh. He became an eminent dermatologist, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and president of the British Association of Dermatologists in 1961–62. Robert Cranston Low FRSE FRCPE (1879–1949) was a Scottish physician and dermatologist. He served as president of the British Association of Dermatologists 1936–37. Life He was born at Bonarty Lodge on Polwarth TerraceEdinburgh and Leith Post Office Directory 1879-80 in Edinburgh in 1879, the son of Thomas Low. He was educated at Merchiston Castle School then studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with an MB ChB in 1902. He received his doctorate (MD) in 1924 with his thesis ''Anaphylaxis and sensitisation''. He became Consultant Physician in the Skin Department of Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
