V8 Hotstox is a British stock car racing formula that races on British short oval racing circuits. Drivers are members of the British Stock Car Drivers Association (BSCDA) and are affiliated to the British Stock Car Racing Association (BriSCA). V8 Hotstox have also previously been known as V8 Stock Cars.www.v8hotstox.com Hotstox racing Hotstox race at various venues in the UK. The tracks feature different surfaces such as shale, tarmac and concrete. The tracks all feature two straightaway's and two turns to form an oval. The oval is surrounded by a safety barrier constructed of Armco, concrete, steel or posts and wires. Races vary in length with heats generally being 16 laps and final's 20. Each meeting consists of 2 or 3 heats plus a final and sometimes an allcomers race often called a Grand National. The field of cars is split into 5 groups according to experience and points. BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars is a class of single-seater stock-car-racing in the UK with custom-built cars, with races conducted on walled oval tracks of either shale or tarmac of approximately a quarter-mile in length. The cars are of an open wheel design. The cars may be of any horsepower and drivers can use any engine they choose, with Chevrolet based small or big block V8 engines being the most popular. The season runs from March through to November, with occasional meetings during Christmas time. Paul Hines (racing Driver)
Paul Hines (born 3 December 1980) is a BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars racing driver from Hinckley, Leicestershire who races under number 259. Biography Hines first started racing in V8 Hotstox. He switched to BriSCA F1 in 2002, debuting in a borrowed car at Skegness Stadium on 14 July. He bought his first car to race the following season, and worked his way through the grades to finish 18th in the National Points Championship. His first major championship success came in 2005, when he won the European Championship at Northampton. He won the British Championship at Skegness in 2010. In 2011, he won a World Championship Semi-Final at Belle Vue and started the World Championship Final at Northampton from pole position. He finished the World Final in fourth place. Frankie Wainman Junior (born 6 October 1971) is a BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars racing driver, who races using the number 515. Wainman is a three-time BriSCA F1 BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars World Championship, World Champion, fourteen-time BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars National Points Championship, National Points Champion and nine-time British Champion along with many other titles. Early life Wainman was brought up in the small town of Silsden, West Yorkshire. He is the son of former racer Frankie Wainman (racing number 212).
