Devil In Christianity
In Christianity, the Devil is the personification of evil, who rebelled against God in an attempt to become equal to God himself. He is depicted as a fallen angel, who was expelled from Heaven at the beginning of time, before God created the material world, and is in constant opposition to God. The devil is identified with several figures in the Bible including the serpent in the Garden of Eden, Lucifer, Satan, the tempter of the Gospels, Leviathan, and the dragon in the Book of Revelation. Early scholars discussed the role of the devil. Scholars influenced by neoplatonic cosmology, like Origen and Pseudo-Dionysius, portrayed the devil as representing deficiency and emptiness, the entity most remote from the divine. According to Augustine of Hippo, the realm of the devil is not nothingness, but an inferior realm standing in opposition to God. The standard Medieval depiction of the devil goes back to Gregory the Great. He integrated the devil, as the first creation of God, in ...

Bringer Of Plagues
''Bringer of Plagues'' is the second studio album by American metal band Divine Heresy, released on July 28, 2009. It is the band's only album to feature vocalist Travis Neal and bassist Joe Payne, and the last to feature drummer Tim Yeung. On June 3, 2009, two new songs from the album, titled "Undivine Prophecies" and "Facebreaker", were posted on the band's MySpace page. The album sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week to debut at position No. 148 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Critical reception According to ''Kerrang!'', the album sees Dino Cazares "honing his partnership with ex-Nile sticksman Tim Yeung to the point of thunderous, jaw-dropping intensity and roping in the vocal talents of alarmingly diverse newcomer Travis Neal." Still, "there's little new ground broken here and attempted slow/heavy dynamics are often poorly executed, leaving the feeling that although accomplished, this is metal on demand rather than any kind of real statement o ...

Bringers Of The First Evil
The First Evil (usually called The First) is a fictional character created by Joss Whedon for the TV series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer''. The First Evil first appeared in the third season episode "Amends", and became the main antagonist of the seventh and final season. A being manifested from all evil in existence, the First is an incorporeal entity that can assume the appearance of any person who has died (however briefly) – including vampires and humans who have been resurrected. Over the course of the series, and depending upon its audience, it takes various guises as a method of deception and manipulation – for example, the First usually appears as Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to the Slayer and her allies, but it also assumes the forms of Warren Mears, Spike, Drusilla and Jonathan Levinson on multiple occasions, among a variety of other forms taken less frequently. Its only real weakness is that it is non-corporeal, and therefore cannot cause any real physical da ...
