Brian Price (rugby Player)
Brian Price (born 30 October 1937) is a former Wales international rugby union player. Price first played international rugby for Wales in 1961 after impressing in the Barbarians squad against South African. He was selected for the 1966 British Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand playing in all four tests, and spent the majority of his career playing at club level for Newport. A teacher by profession he later became a journalist and aports presenter for radio and television. In 2006 he became President of the Former Player Association. Rugby career Price was born in Deri near Bargoed in South Wales. After leaving national service he took a place at St Luke's College, Exeter and represented the college's rugby team. David Watkins (rugby)
David Watkins (born 5 March 1942) is a Welsh former dual-code rugby international, having played both rugby union and rugby league football for both codes' national teams between 1963 and 1974. He captained the British and Irish Lions rugby union side, and made six appearances for the Great Britain rugby league team. With the Wales national rugby league team he played in every match of the 1975 World Cup, and with English club Salford he played more than 400 games over 12 seasons Background Watkins was born in Blaina, Monmouthshire, Wales, he played rugby union for Cwmcelyn Youth, as well as occasional games for Abertillery RFC Ebbw Vale RFC and Pontypool RFC, becoming a Wales Youth International. Glyn Davidge
Glyn Davidge (31 December 1933 – 18 March 2006) was a Wales, Welsh international flanker who played club rugby for Tredegar RFC, Tredegar and Newport RFC, Newport. He was awarded nine caps for Wales national rugby union team, Wales and toured with Arthur Smith (rugby player), Arthur Smith's 1962 British Lions tour to South Africa, 1962 British Lions squad. Club career During the 1952–53 season, at the age of 18, Davidge played for Newport having previously been a member of Tredegar. As an adolescent, he had shown form and had played for Wales Youth, but before he could start a second season with Newport was called up for National Service. In the Army he joined the South Wales Borderers and represented The Army rugby team. On his return to civilian life he rejoined Newport who he would play for until 1965. In 1966 the British Lions toured Australia and New Zealand. The Lions won the two test matches against but lost all four internationals against the All Blacks. Overall the tourists played thirty-five matches, winning twenty-three, losing nine and drawing three. In Australia the Lions played eight matches, winning seven and drawing the other. In New Zealand they played twenty-five matches, winning fifteen, drawing two and losing eight – in addition to their four test defeats they also lost to Southland, Otago, Wellington and Wanganui-King Country. They also played two matches in Canada, winning one and losing one. The touring party was captained by Mike Campbell-Lamerton.
