Brian Elder is a former Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, having represented the 96th House District which includes Bay City, Essexville, Bangor, Frankenlust, Hampton, Kawkawlin, Merritt, Monitor and Portsmouth townships in Bay County. Prior to his election to the House, Elder was a member of the Bay County Board of Commissioners. Charles Brunner
Charles M. Brunner (born April 15, 1952) is a Democratic politician from Michigan currently serving in the Michigan House of Representatives. He is a former mayor of Bay City. Prior to his time in elected office, Brunner was a teacher for 30 years. Once mayor, he was a founding member of what was once known as the Mayors Automotive Coalition, now the Manufacturing Alliance of Communities, and started several other city initiatives including a community clean-up and an adopt-a-park program. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census. Its composition, powers and duties are established in Article IV of the Michigan Constitution. Members are elected in even-numbered years and take office at 12 p.m. (EST) on January 1 following the November general election.
