Rehoboth, Namibia
Rehoboth is a town in central Namibia just north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Located 90 kilometres (55 miles) south of the Namibian capital Windhoek, Rehoboth lies on a high elevation plateau with several natural hot-water springs. It receives sparse mean annual rainfall of , although in the 2010/2011 rainy season a record were measured. In 2005, it had a population of 21,378 later increased to 28,843 in 2011, according to the 2011 Namibian Population and Housing Census. Rehoboth is intersected from north to south by the national road B1, which also serves as the border of the two electoral constituencies in the town, Rehoboth Urban West and Rehoboth Urban East. South West Africa
South West Africa ( af, Suidwes-Afrika; german: Südwestafrika; nl, Zuidwest-Afrika) was a territory under South African administration from 1915 to 1990, after which it became modern-day Namibia. It bordered Angola (Portuguese colony before 1975), Botswana ( Bechuanaland before 1966), South Africa, and Zambia (Northern Rhodesia before 1964). FC Civics
The FC Civics Windhoek (Civics) is a Namibian football club based in Windhoek. The Civics play in the highest division of Namibian football, the Namibia Premier League. The club has its home in Khomasdal, in the north of the Namibian capital Windhoek. From 2000 the club is also known as Buschschule Civics. They play their home games at Sam Nujoma Stadium in Katutura, Windhoek. FC Civics were founded by a group of young students in 1983, who initially named the team after a local street – ''Bethlehem Boys''. The club later became the ''Mighty Civilians'' before being recast again as ''Civics''. Even today, the bulk of the squad comes either from Khomasdal or the neighbouring township of Katutura. The Namibia Premier League (NPL), also known as Debmarine Namibia Premiership is the highest level of domestic association football in Namibia. The league was established in 1990 and was trimmed to 12 teams from the traditional 16 in 2005. 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations
The 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the MTN Africa Cup of Nations due to the competition's sponsorship by MTN, was the 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial football tournament for nations affiliated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was staged at four venues around Ghana between 20 January and 10 February 2008. This was the last Africa Cup of Nations to use the old CAF logo.
