Brebel ( da, Bredbøl) is a former municipality in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Brebel is diveded into for four parts: The village of Groß-Brebel ( da, Store Bredbøl) and the hamlets of Klein-Brebel ( da, Lille Bredbøl), Brebelholz ( da, Bredbølskov) and Loitstraße ( da, Løjtgade). Brebel was first mentioned in King Valdemar's land register in 1231 as Brethæbøl. In 1799, the village got a school. In the years 1908 to 1969 there was a dairy in Brebel. Süderbrarup ( da, Sønder Brarup) is a municipality in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated on the north side of the Schlei, approx. 20 km northeast of Schleswig, and 30 km southeast of Flensburg. Süderbrarup is known for the Thorsberg moor archeological site. Süderbrarup is the seat of the ''Amt'' ("collective municipality") Süderbrarup. In March 2018 the former municipalities of Brebel and Dollrottfeld were merged into Süderbrarup. Schleswig-Flensburg (; da, Slesvig-Flensborg) is a district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is bounded by (from the south and clockwise) the districts of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, Dithmarschen and Nordfriesland, the Region Syddanmark in Denmark, the city of Flensburg and the Baltic Sea. Valdemar (28 June 1170 – 28 March 1241), later remembered as Valdemar the Victorious (), was the King of Denmark (being Valdemar II) from 1202 until his death in 1241. Background He was the second son of King Valdemar I of Denmark and Sophia of Polotsk. When his father died, young Valdemar was only twelve years old.
