Breaker High
''Breaker High'' is a teen comedy-drama series that ran from 1997 to 1998, airing on YTV in Canada and on UPN's weekday "Kids" block in the United States. The series was created by Cori Stern, while David Winning directed the pilot and seven episodes of the series. Ownership of the series passed to Disney in 2001 when Disney acquired Fox Kids Worldwide, which also includes Saban Entertainment. The series is not available on Disney+. Synopsis The series is set at a high school located on a cruise ship (equivalent to the real Semester at Sea program), allowing the episodes to be set in different exotic locations, although the series was, in fact, filmed entirely in Burnaby, British Columbia. Like most series of its kind, it featured events such as dating, finances, and friendship, although as a daytime series, it tended to steer away from the "tougher" situations (pregnancy, sexuality, etc.) outlined in other primetime teen dramas at the time. ''UPN Kids'' was an American children's programming block that aired on UPN from September 10, 1995 to September 5, 1999. Airing on Sunday mornings, the block aired for one hour (10:00 to 11:00am), then two hours the following year (9:00 to 11:00 a.m., regardless of time zone). History UPN Kids launched on September 10, 1995 with a one-hour block of cartoons consisting of '' Space Strikers'' and '' Teknoman''. It was a joint partnership between UPN and Saban Entertainment. MTV2 is a Canadian pay television channel focused on lifestyle and general entertainment programming aimed at youth and teen audiences. The channel is owned by Bell Media, with the MTV2 name and branding used under an brand licensing, agreement with the Paramount Networks Americas division of Paramount Global. MTV (Canada)
MTV is a Canadian English-language specialty channel owned by Bell Media with the name and branding used under a licensing agreement with Paramount Global. The channel is devoted to talk, lifestyle and documentary programming, and also airs some scripted programming. The channel launched as Talktv in 2000, but was not as widely available prior to its relaunch in March 2006. Unlike MTV channels in the U.S. and elsewhere, the channel was restricted in its ability to carry music programming until 2015, due to conditions in the channel's licence issued by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). Semester At Sea
Semester at Sea (SaS) is a study-abroad program which was founded in 1963 and managed by the Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) in Fort Collins, Colorado. Colorado State University is the current academic sponsor and the program is conducted on a cruise ship. Nearly 73,000 undergraduate students from over 1,500 colleges and universities have participated in Semester at Sea. During the spring and fall semesters, up to 600 undergraduates participate in the 100- to 110-day program.
