Braxton Davidson
Braxton Cain Thomas Davidson (born June 18, 1996) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Gastonia Honey Hunters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Career Atlanta Braves Davidson attended T. C. Roberson High School in Asheville, North Carolina. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the first round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. He signed with Atlanta, forgoing his commitment to play college baseball at the University of North Carolina. Davidson spent his first professional season with both the GCL Braves and the Danville Braves, batting a combined .224 with 11 RBIs in fifty games between the two teams. He spent the 2015 season with the Rome Braves where he hit .242 with ten home runs and 45 RBIs, in 124 games. After spending time in major league spring training, Davidson was assigned to the Carolina Mudcats to start 2016. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). These numbers are shorthand designations useful in baseball scorekeeping and are not necessarily the same as the squad numbers worn on player uniforms. The Arizona Fall League (AFL) is an off-season sports league owned and operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) which operates during the autumn in Arizona, United States, at six different baseball complexes. Arizona Fall League rosters are filled by many of the top prospects in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) who are assigned by their parent clubs. Structure The six teams of the AFL are organized in two three-team divisions. The Schaumburg Boomers are a professional baseball team based in Schaumburg, Illinois that began play in the independent Frontier League in 2012. The team plays its home games at Wintrust Field. The Boomers replaced the now defunct Schaumburg Flyers of the Northern League after the franchise was evicted for not paying almost US$1 million in back rent. The "Boomers" nickname comes from a common nickname for males of the greater prairie chicken species, a bird which was once abundant in the Midwest but is now a vulnerable species. Frontier League
The Frontier League is a professional independent baseball league with teams in the Northeastern and Midwestern United States and Eastern Canada. Formed in 1993, it is the oldest currently running independent league in the United States. The league is headquartered in Sauget, Illinois. In 2020, the Frontier League, together with the American Association and the Atlantic League, became an official MLB Partner League.
