Bramwell Tovey
Bramwell Tovey (11 July 1953 – 12 July 2022) was a British conductor and composer. Life and career Tovey was educated at Ilford County High School, the Royal Academy of Music and the University of London. His formal music education was as a pianist and composer. Whilst at the Royal Academy, he also became a tuba player, studying with John Fletcher. Bramwell Harold Tillsley (August 18, 1931 - November 2, 2019) was a Canadian salvationist and writer, who was the 14th General of The Salvation Army (1993–1994). General Tillsley died on Saturday, November 2, 2019, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Biography The son of Salvationists, he was born in Kitchener, Ontario. Bramwell Fletcher (20 February 1904 – 22 June 1988) was an English stage, film, and television actor. Career Fletcher appeared on the stage in 1927 and made his Broadway debut in 1929. John Bramwell (born 1 March 1937 in Ashton-in-Makerfield) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Everton and Luton Town. Bramwell started his career at non-league Wigan Athletic, making 83 Lancashire Combination appearances for the club before moving to Everton for a fee of £3,500. He was known for his accurate passing on the field and wisecracking off the field. Bramwell replaced Jimmy Tansey at left-back in September 1958 and kept his place in the side for the rest of the season. John Crighton Bramwell (1889–1976) was a British cardiologist, professor of medicine, and one of the founders of cardiology as a specialist subject in the UK. Education and career Born on 4 March 1889 in Edinburgh, to Sir Byrom Bramwell and Martha Crighton, he was educated at Cheltenham College, before matriculated in 1907 at Trinity College, Cambridge.
