2015 Indian Ocean Island Games
The 2015 Indian Ocean Island Games, officially known as Jeux des îles de l'océan Indien Réunion 2015 or simply JIOI Réunion 2015, was the 9th edition of this multi-sport event for athletes representing the National Olympic Committees of Indian Ocean island nations. Saint-Pierre, Réunion
Saint-Pierre (; rcf, label= Reunionese Creole, Sin-Pyè) is the third-largest commune in the French overseas department and region of Réunion. Located on the southwest side of the island, it is the capital of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands. It developed from a port built from 1854 to 1882, which was used for the trade between Asia and Europe. Today, it features 400 sites for fishing and pleasure boats, while most of the commercial traffic moved north to ''Le Port''. Jean Jordy Vadamootoo (born 23 May 1995), known as Jordy Vadamootoo, is a Mauritian amateur boxer who won a bantamweight gold medal at the 2017 African Championships and competed at the 2017 World Championships. He was also one of three members of the Mauritian delegation to win a boxing gold medal at the 2015 Indian Ocean Island Games, along with Merven Clair and Richarno Colin. Andrique Allisop (born 2 June 1993) is a Seychellois amateur boxer. He was born in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. He won sportsman of the year 2012 and 2014 in Seychelles Allisop took up boxing at the age of 13. Louis Richarno Colin (born 17 July 1987 in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius) is a Mauritian boxer best known to be All Africa champ 2011. He qualified for the 2008 Olympics at junior welterweight at the 2nd AIBA African 2008 Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Merven Clair (born 2 July 1993) is a Mauritian boxer. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's middleweight event, in which he was eliminated in the first round by Hosam Bakr Abdin. He also competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the welterweight class where he was also eliminated in the first round, that time by Kenya's Rayton Okwiri.
