Boxed In
Boxed In is the alias for British singer, songwriter and record producer Oli Bayston (born Oliver George Bayston). The name is partly inspired by Francis Bacon's infamous painting Head VI, once described as "the operation through which the entire body escapes through the mouth", a phrase which also seemed to befit the act of singing. After featuring in ''The Guardians "New band of the day" in October 2013, Boxed In released his first single "All Your Love Is Gone" through Moshi Moshi Records in November 2013. His eponymous, electro-dance-pop debut album followed in January 2015, released by Nettwerk Records, to a swathe of positive reviews, including from ''NME'', ''Clash'', and ''The Line of Best Fit''. Stylistically, the album drew comparisons with LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip. Huw Stephens
Huw Meredydd Stephens (born 25 May 1981) is a Welsh radio and television presenter, currently broadcasting on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio 6 Music. Stephens founded the Sŵn music festival with John Rostron and the yearly showcase Welsh Language Music Day. Stephens produced the 2018 documentary film ''Anorac'' about the Welsh language music scene. He presented the ''Cofiwch Dryweryn'' documentary for S4C, following the history of the graffiti that his father painted in 1963, and ''The Story of Welsh Art'', a 3-part documentary series for the BBC. He also presented ''Cymru Rising'' on BBC Radio 4, documenting the Welsh language music scene. Daniel De Mussenden Carey (born 24 December 1969) is an English record producer, songwriter, mixer and remixer. He owns his own studio in South London and runs the record label Speedy Wunderground. In 2014, Carey received two Mercury Prize nominations for his production work on two nominated albums: ''Everybody Down'' by Kae Tempest and '' First Mind'' by Nick Mulvey. In 2019, Carey earned two further Mercury Prize nominations for his production work on the albums '' Schlagenheim'' by Black Midi and ''Dogrel'' by Fontaines D.C. TV on the Radio (TVOTR) is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2001. Jason Bentley (born July 27, 1970) is an American radio disc jockey of electronic music in Los Angeles, California. On December 1, 2008, Bentley replaced Nic Harcourt as the host of ''Morning Becomes Eclectic'' and as Music Director for KCRW. Previously he had hosted two radio programs: ''Afterhours'' on KROQ-FM, and ''Metropolis'' on KCRW, the latter for 16 years until November 28, 2008. South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days. There was no in-person event in 2020 and 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Austin, Texas; both years, there was a smaller online event instead.
