Bowery Mural
The Houston Bowery Wall, also known simply as the Bowery Wall, is a famous mural wall currently owned and curated by Goldman Properties., on the Lower East Side area of Manhattan, New York City. The concrete wall, on Houston St and the intersection of the Bowery, had been a popular graffiti spot in the early 1980s, when street artist Keith Haring created a large mural on it in 1982. The wall was acquired by Goldman Properties in 1984. Tony Goldman began using the wall for advertisements, though they were regularly vandalized. The wall once again become an art spot in 2008, when Goldman gave curator Jeffrey Deitch the right to commission large murals for the wall, with new pieces added every 6-12 months. Logan Hicks
Logan Hicks (1971) is an American contemporary artist born in 1971 and graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Background Logan Hicks was born in 1971 and grew up south of Baltimore, Maryland. In 1993 he left Maryland Institute College of Art a couple of classes short of a degree to start a screen printing business in Baltimore where printed t-shirts, stickers and posters. In 1999 he moved to San Diego after befriending Shepard Fairey. Leaving his screen printing press behind in Baltimore he began to use stencils for his own art. In 2001 he moved to Los Angeles. In 2007 he moved back to the East Coast, relocating to Brooklyn, New York where he continues to exhibit his work. Tomokazu Matsuyama (松山智一 ''Matsuyama Tomokazu, ''born April 30, 1976, in Takayama, Gifu, Japan) is a Japanese contemporary visual artist. Matsuyama lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Banksy
Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based street artist, political activist and film director whose real name and identity remain unconfirmed and the subject of speculation. Active since the 1990s, his satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti executed in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have appeared on streets, walls and bridges throughout the world. Aiko Nakagawa (born 1975), known as Lady Aiko or AIKO, is a Japanese street artist based in Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York. Kenny Scharf (born November 23, 1958) is an American painter known for his participation in New York City's interdisciplinary East Village art scene during the 1980s, alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.
