Elliot Bovill
Sir Elliot Charles Bovill (23 April 1848 – 24 March 1893) was a British lawyer and judge. He served as Chief Justice of Cyprus and the Straits Settlements in the late 19th century. Early life Bovill was born in Clapham, at that time in Surrey, the fourth son of William Bovill, often confused with William John Bovill QC of Lincoln's Inn, and his wife, Lavinia Ann I'Anson, daughter of architect Edward I'Anson. He was educated at Westminster School and Christ Church, Oxford, graduating from the latter with honours in 1871. He was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1873. He married Anna White, the daughter of John Tahourdin White on 27 July 1876 at Kensington. Legal appointments Bovill was appointed assistant Judicial Commissioner in Cyprus in 1875 soon after its cessation from Turkey to Britain. Frederick Bovill
Frederick Bovill was an operatic baritone of the late Victorian era. In his short career, he created the roles of Pish-Tush in Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera hit ''The Mikado'' (1885) and the Squire in Sullivan's romantic opera ''Ivanhoe'' (1891). From 1887 to 1889 Bovill toured the British provinces with J. W. James Bovill
James Noel Bruce Bovill (born 2 June 1971) is an English former cricketer who played first-class cricket predominantly for Hampshire from 1993 to 1997. Bovill was born at High Wycombe in June 1971. He was educated at Charterhouse School, before matriculating to Durham University. Playing his early club cricketer for Marlow, Bovill played minor counties cricket for Buckinghamshire in the Minor Counties Championship between 1990 and 1993. While studying at Durham, he was chosen to represent the Combined Universities cricket team in 1992 Benson & Hedges Cup, making his debut in List A one-day cricket against Worcestershire. He made four appearances for the Combined Services in that seasons competition.
