Boum (ship)
A boum/boom ( ar, بوم) (french: bhum), known as dhangi in India, is a medium-sized deep-sea dhow, a traditional Arabic sailing vessel. This type of dhow has two masts with lateen sails, a stern that is tapering in shape and a more symmetrical overall structure than other dhow types. The Arab boum has a very high prow, which is trimmed in the Indian version. History The boum replaced the heavier baghlahs and ghanjahs which were more difficult to maneuver. Booms were mainly built in Beypore, Konkan and Gujarat, India, and Kuwait and are primarily used along the coasts of the Arabian Peninsula, Sindh, the west coast of the Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa. Nowadays some Booms have been converted into motorboats after being fitted with engines instead of sails, especially in the Persian Gulf area. Souleymane Boum (born January 26, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons, UTEP Miners and Xavier Musketeers. High school and college career Boum starred at Oakland Technical High School, where he was twice named Oakland Athletic League player of the year. His success in high school and on the AAU circuit led to a scholarship offer from the nearby University of San Francisco, where he quickly earned a starting spot and was named to the West Coast Conference All-Freshman team. Following the season, he transferred to UTEP. In three seasons at UTEP, Boum proved an effective scorer, averaging 16.9 points per game. ''Voyageur'' is the fifth studio album by the German musical project Enigma, released on 8 September 2003 by Virgin Records. ''Voyageur'' was considered to be Enigma's most distinctive album to date, due to Enigma's drastic changes in sound as compared to the previous four albums. The project's signature ''shakuhachi'' flutes, Gregorian chants and tribal chants found on the earlier albums were all but gone on ''Voyageur''.
