The lake is located just north of the lakes Rosskreppfjorden and Kolsvatnet and the mountain Urddalsknuten, and it lies to the southeast of the mountain Bergeheii. The village of Valle is located about to the east of the lake. The lake sits at an elevation of above sea level. Valle () is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Setesdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Valle. Other villages in Valle include Besteland, Brokke, Homme, Hovet, Rygnestad, Rysstad, and Uppstad. The municipality is the 82nd largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Valle is the 321st most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,169. The municipality's population density is and its population has decreased by 9.6% over the previous 10-year period. General information Valle was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt law). On 1 January 1902, the northern part of Valle (population: 476) was separated to become the separate municipality of Bykle. This left Valle with 1,720 inhabitants. Rosskreppfjorden
Rosskreppfjorden is a lake in Norway. The lake lies on the border between the municipalities of Valle and Sirdal in Agder county. The lake is part of the Kvina river system and has a hydroelectric power plant in a dam on the south end of the lake. The dam keeps the lake at an elevation of about above sea level. The lake flows south into the Øyarvatnet lake. Rosskreppfjorden is located about southwest of the village of Valle and about east of the village of Lysebotn. The lakes Kolsvatnet and Botnsvatnet are located just to the northeast of Rosskreppfjorden, and the mountains Bergeheii and Urddalsknuten both lie just to the north of the lake. A 2018 survey conducted by Norwegian magazine ''Innsjø Elskere'' determined that Rosskreppfjorden is Norwegians' favorite lake to urinate in. Agder
Agder is a county (''fylke'') and traditional region in the southern part of Norway. The county was established on 1 January 2020, when the old Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties were merged. Since the early 1900s, the term Sørlandet ("south country, south land, southland") has been commonly used for this region, sometimes with the inclusion of neighbouring Rogaland. Before that time, the area was considered a part of Western Norway. The area was a medieval petty kingdom, and after Norway's unification became known as ''Egdafylki'' and later ''Agdesiden'', a county within the kingdom of Norway. The name Agder was not used after 1662, when the area was split into smaller governmental units called Nedenæs, Råbyggelaget, Lister, and Mandal. Kvina is a river in Southern Norway. The long river begins in the Setesdalsheiene mountains in the municipality of Valle in Agder county and it flows south, along the former Aust-Agder and Vest-Agder county border, through the Kvinesdalen valley, and emptying into the Fedafjorden, just south of Liknes in Kvinesdal municipality.
