Boston is an unincorporated community in Summit County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. History The community takes its name from Boston Township. The first settlement at Boston was made in 1820. A sawmill was built at Boston in about 1821. An early variant name was Boston Mills. A post office called Boston was established in 1825, and remained in operation until 1957. Summit County is an urban county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 540,428, making it the fourth-most populous county in Ohio. Its county seat and largest city is Akron. The county was formed on March 3, 1840, from portions of Medina, Portage and Stark Counties. Boston Township is one of the nine townships of Summit County, Ohio, United States, about 15 miles north of Akron and 23 miles south of Cleveland. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area. Sawmill
A sawmill (saw mill, saw-mill) or lumber mill is a facility where logs are cut into lumber. Modern sawmills use a motorized saw to cut logs lengthwise to make long pieces, and crosswise to length depending on standard or custom sizes (dimensional lumber). Cuyahoga Valley National Park is an American national park that preserves and reclaims the rural landscape along the Cuyahoga River between Akron and Cleveland in Northeast Ohio.
