The Bostancı Show Center ( tr, Bostancı Gösteri Merkezi) is a convention center located on the Mehmet Şevki Paşa Road in Bostancı, Kadıköy, opened in 1991. It hosts many events and concerts. History The first series of events taking place at the Bostancı Show Center following its opening on 23 April 1991 were a number of concerts between 25-28 April 1991 by Sezen Aksu, who was accompanied by artists such as Sertab Erener, Levent Yüksel, Onno Tunç, Garo Mafyan, Orhan Topçuoğlu, Cengiz Teoman and Aykut Gürel. Mirkelam performed for the first time in a song contest organized by Show TV on 25 June 1995 at the Bostancı Show Center. Bostancı
Bostancı is a neighbourhood of Kadıköy, located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, Turkey, on the shore of the Sea of Marmara. As the easternmost neighbourhood of the Kadıköy district; it borders Suadiye and Kozyatağı (also neighbourhoods of Kadıköy) to the west, İçerenköy (a neighbourhood of Ataşehir) to the north, and Altıntepe (a neighbourhood of Maltepe) to the east. A predominantly residential area, Bostancı is an important transport interchange with stops on the Marmaray and M4 Metro lines and ferries leaving for the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara. It is generally considered the starting point of Bağdat Avenue, the major shopping street that runs as far as Kadıköy. Because of its position on the water, Bostanci has several fish restaurants. Sabah (newspaper)
''Sabah'' is a Turkish daily newspaper, with a circulation of around 330,000 as of 2011. Its name means "morning" in Turkish. The newspaper was founded in İzmir by Dinç Bilgin on 22 April 1985. In 2007, the government of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seized the newspaper, citing a legal document that had not been disclosed to authorities when ''Sabah'' was sold in 2001. Ownership of the newspaper was given to the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund of Turkey. Some of the newspaper's staffers were fired, and the paper was then sold to the Turkuvaz Media Group belonging to Çalık Holding whose CEO, Berat Albayrak, is the son-in-law of Erdoğan and whose chairman, Ahmet Çalık, has been described as a "close associate" of Erdoğan. Kamil Sönmez (4 March 1947 – 20 December 2012) was a Turkish folk singer and actor. He is best known for his folk songs from the Black Sea Region of Turkey. In 1998, he received the title of "state artist". ''Yeni Şafak'' ("New Dawn") is a conservative, Islamist Turkish daily newspaper. Neşet Ertaş (1938 – 25 September 2012) was a Turkish folk music singer, lyricist, modern ashik and virtuoso of the traditional Turkish instrument the bağlama. His profession in Turkish is known as ''halk ozanı'', which literally means "folk bard". Yaşar Kemal gave Ertaş his nickname, "Bozkırın Tezenesi" (literally: "Plectrum of the Steppe"), writing it in a book he gave him as a gift. Ebru Gündeş (, born 12 October 1974) is a Turkish pop-folk and arabesque singer, actress, and television personality. Early life Ebru Gündeş was born in Istanbul. She attended primary school in Ankara, but she was forced to discontinue her education due to financial difficulty. She comes from a prominent religious Sunni Muslim family known for its military leaders. The quality of her voice was discovered at an early age when one of her relatives took her to Neşe Demirkat, a partner in Raks Neşe Müzik, which is a record label in Turkey. Robert Plant
Robert Anthony Plant (born 20 August 1948) is an English singer and songwriter, best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the English rock band Led Zeppelin for all of its existence from 1968 until 1980, when the band broke up following the death of John Bonham, the band's drummer.
