Borøya, Tvedestrand
Borøya or Borøy is an island in Tvedestrand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The island lies along the Oksefjorden between the islands of Sandøya and Tverrdalsøya. Some of the villages on the island include Sandvika Sandvika () is the administrative centre of the municipality of Bærum in Norway. Agder
Agder is a county (''fylke'') and traditional region in the southern part of Norway. The county was established on 1 January 2020, when the old Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties were merged. Since the early 1900s, the term Sørlandet ("south country, south land, southland") has been commonly used for this region, sometimes with the inclusion of neighbouring Rogaland. Before that time, the area was considered a part of Western Norway. The area was a medieval petty kingdom, and after Norway's unification became known as ''Egdafylki'' and later ''Agdesiden'', a county within the kingdom of Norway. Tvedestrand
is municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sørlandet. The administrative center is the town of Tvedestrand. There are many villages in the municipality including Dypvåg, Fiane, Gjeving, Gødderstad, Grønland, Kilen, Klåholmen, Krokvåg, Laget, Lyngør, Nesgrenda, Østerå, Sagesund, Sandvika, and Songe. The town of Tvedestrand has a white-painted town center with irregular streets climbing steep hills around the harbor. The natural environment of the area makes it a tourist destination. The municipality includes numerous islands, which makes it popular in the summer for boaters. The number of people in the municipality practically doubles in the summer, due to vacationers. Oksefjorden (Aust-Agder)
Oksefjorden is a fjord in Agder county, Norway. The long fjord runs between the islands of Borøya and Tverrdalsøya along the border of Tvedestrand and Arendal municipalities. At the north end of the fjord, it joins the Tvedestrandfjorden and the Eikelandsfjorden and at the south end it flows into the Skagerrak. The village of Sandvika lies along the northern shore of the fjord (on Borøya) and the village of Holmesund (on Tverrdalsøya). Tverrdalsøya
Tverrdalsøya is an island in Arendal municipality in Agder county, Norway. The island lies between the Oksefjorden, Eikelandsfjorden, and Kilsundet straits just off the mainland coast at the entrance to the Tvedestrandsfjorden which leads north to the town of Tvedestrand. The island of Flostaøya lies immediately to the south and the island of Borøy lies immediately to the east. The main population centre on the island is the village of Kilsund at the southern end of the island. Historically, the island was a part of the municipality of Dypvåg until 1902 when it was made a part of the new municipality of Flosta. In 1962, it became a part of the new municipality of Moland and then in 1992 it became part of the municipality of Arendal. Sandvika is a village in Tvedestrand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located on the southern coast of the island of Borøya, along the Oksefjorden, about south of the town of Tvedestrand. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. The purpose was to co-operate on publishing encyclopaedias and dictionaries. The first volume of Store norske leksikon (SNL) was published in 1978.
