Propeller
A propeller (colloquially often called a screw if on a ship or an airscrew if on an aircraft) is a device with a rotating hub and radiating blades that are set at a pitch to form a helical spiral which, when rotated, exerts linear thrust upon a working fluid such as water or air. Propellers are used to pump fluid through a pipe or duct, or to create thrust to propel a boat through water or an aircraft through air. The blades are specially shaped so that their rotational motion through the fluid causes a pressure difference between the two surfaces of the blade by Bernoulli's principle which exerts force on the fluid. Most marine propellers are screw propellers with helical blades rotating on a propeller shaft (ship), propeller shaft with an approximately horizontal axis. History Early developments The principle employed in using a screw propeller is derived from sculling. In sculling, a single blade is moved through an arc, from side to side taking care to keep presenting the ... Borussia-Park
Borussia-Park (; stylised as BORUSSIA-PARK) is a football stadium in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany which serves as the home stadium of Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach. It replaced the smaller Bökelbergstadion, which no longer satisfied modern safety standards and international requirements, in July 2004. Borussia-Park has a capacity of 54,057, of which 16,145 are standing places in the terraces due to popular demand. For international games, the terraces are converted into temporary seating which reduces the stadium's seating capacity to 46,249. The new stadium features amenities such as VIP lounges, a fanshop and sports bar, and cost 85 million euro to construct. Despite its large capacity and relative modernity, the stadium missed out on holding matches during the 2006 World Cup, which Germany hosted. It was the largest capacity Bundesliga stadium not to host World Cup matches, although it did host matches in the 2011 Women's World Cup. It wa ... SV Viktoria Preußen 07
SV Viktoria Preußen is a German association football club based in the Eckenheim district of Frankfurt.Grüne, Hardy (2001). Vereinslexikon. Kassel: AGON Sportverlag History The club was founded on 6 May 1907 and was built around the sports of rings and weightlifting. A football department was formed in 1909 and became independent as ''Fußballvereins 1912 Eckenheim'' three years later. The two associations maintained good relations and, following the end of World War I in 1919, reunited as ''SV Viktoria 07/12 Eckenheim''. The unified club went on to enjoy considerable success at the local level. Following the rise to power of the Nazis in 1933, sport in Germany became highly politicized and clubs deemed unreliable by the regime were broken up. This was the fate of many worker's clubs including ''Freie Turnerschaft Nord und Kamerun'', many of whose members joined ''Viktoria''. This led to the formation of gymnastics and handball departments in the now much larger club. After ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Prussia
Prussia, , Old Prussian: ''Prūsa'' or ''Prūsija'' was a German state on the southeast coast of the Baltic Sea. It formed the German Empire under Prussian rule when it united the German states in 1871. It was ''de facto'' dissolved by an emergency decree transferring powers of the Prussian government to German Chancellor Franz von Papen in 1932 and ''de jure'' by an Allied decree in 1947. For centuries, the House of Hohenzollern ruled Prussia, expanding its size with the Prussian Army. Prussia, with its capital at Königsberg and then, when it became the Kingdom of Prussia in 1701, Berlin, decisively shaped the history of Germany. In 1871, Prussian Minister-President Otto von Bismarck united most German principalities into the German Empire under his leadership, although this was considered to be a "Lesser Germany" because Austria and Switzerland were not included. In November 1918, the monarchies were abolished and the nobility lost its political power during the Ger ...
