Borovina
Borovina is one of the town districts in Třebíč in the Czech Republic and it has so-called new part and old part. In old part there are mainly family houses, then in younger part of Borovina there are many panel blocks of flats and it is near the market town of Stařeč and it was built in the seventies of twentieth century. The new part is situated in ''Valley of the Stařečský potok'' (Stařeč brook) and also there is situated ''Borovinský rybník'' (Pond of Borovina) A lot of staff working for Dukovany Nuclear Power Station live in Borovina district. History Borovina is one of the newer parts of Třebíč, it originated in 19th and 20th century. Borovina is often being divided into the old and the new part. Třebíč
Třebíč (; german: Trebitsch; yi, טרייביטש Treybitsh) is a town in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 34,000 inhabitants. The beginnings of the town's history are connected with the establishment of a Benedictine monastery, where the castle is located today. In the age of its expansion, Třebíč was the third most important town in Moravia. The population growth started after World War II. There are several well-known tourist sights in the town. The Jewish Quarter and St. Procopius Basilica were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003 because of their testimony to cultural interchange across several centuries and the remarkable architecture within the site. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Vysočina Region
The Vysočina Region (; cs, Kraj Vysočina "Highlands Region", , ) is an administrative unit ( cs, kraj) of the Czech Republic, located partly in the south-eastern part of the historical region of Bohemia and partly in the south-west of the historical region of Moravia. Its capital is Jihlava. The region is the location of two mountain ranges, Žďárské vrchy and Jihlavské vrchy, both part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Stařeč
Stařeč (german: Startsch) is a market town in Třebíč District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,700 inhabitants. Administrative parts The village of Kracovice is an administrative part of Stařeč. Geography Stařeč is located about southwest of Třebíč and southeast of Jihlava. It lies in the Jevišovice Uplands. The highest point is the hill Zadní hora at above sea level. The Stařečský Stream flows through the market town. History The first written mention of Stařeč is from 1259, but the village may have already appeared in the foundation deed of Třebíč Monastery from 1101. In 1499, Stařeč was first mentioned as a market town. In 1534, it was promoted to market town again, so it probably lost this status briefly during this period. Dukovany Nuclear Power Station
The Dukovany Nuclear Power Station is a nuclear power plant near Dukovany in the Czech Republic. It was the second nuclear power plant in Czechoslovakia (the Bohunice Nuclear Power Plant in what is now Slovakia was constructed in 1958), and the first one in what is now the Czech Republic. It is situated from the town of Třebíč, near the Dalešice Reservoir, where the plant sources its water supply. In 1970 Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union ratified a contract for construction of two nuclear power plants. Actual construction work began four years later. From 1985 to 1987, four power units with pressurized water reactors were commissioned. All four are still in operation. Dukovany nuclear power plant supplies approximately 14 TWh of electric energy annually to the national power network. The plant is owned and operated by ČEZ Group.
