Borgen, Akershus
Borgen is a suburb located in the municipality of Asker, Norway. Located some 40 kilometres west of Oslo, Borgen has many different styles of residential areas, ranging from the apartment complexes and semi-detached houses in the southern area of Borgen, to the villas of Borgen Skog. Johan Borgen
Johan Collett Müller Borgen (28 April 1902 – 16 October 1979) was a Norwegian writer, journalist and critic. His best-known work is the novel ''Lillelord'' for which he was awarded the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature in 1955. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1966. Biography He was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of Poul Holst Borgen (1867–1941) and Andrea Elfrida Bommen (1868–1958). He was raised in the borough of Frogner as the youngest of four sons in the family of a successful attorney. He attended private schools; first at Frøenene Platous Forskole, then at Frogner Skole. William Borgen (born December 19, 1996) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Early career Borgen attended Moorhead High School in Minnesota, leading the school in his final year as captain before joining the Omaha Lancers in the United States Hockey League to complete the 2014–15 season. Peder Borgen
Peder Johan Borgen (born 26 January 1928 in Lillestrøm, Norway) is a Norwegian Methodist minister, has a Doctorate in Theology, and is a retired professor at Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He is considered a pioneer "within the theological scientific community in Norway and was the first Methodist and the first member of a Norwegian Free Church who took the theological doctorate at a Norwegian university." He grew up with a background in both the Inner Mission and the Methodist Church, and was Candidatus theologiæ at the University of Oslo 1953. Onno Borgen (5 September 1962 – 4 January 2003) was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Ole Edvard Borgen
Ole Edvard Borgen (8 November 1925 – 24 March 2009) was a Norwegian theologian and Methodist bishop. He was born in Lillestrøm as a son of meat merchant Omar Emil Borgen (1900–1985) and Harda Pytte (1901–1989), and older brother of Peder Borgen. In June 1949 he married Martha Olava Rygge (1928–2003). He attended Tomb Agricultural School from 1944 to 1946, and also completed an apprenticeship in sausage making, intent to take over his father's store and the family farm. He was elected to Lillestrøm city council, serving from 1950 to 1956. Besides that, the entire family adhered to the Methodist creed, and in 1956 Borgen travelled to the United States to study different subjects. From 1959 to 1962 he was a choir leader and pastor for youths in Edgemont Baptist Church, Durham, and from 1963 he was a pastor at West Side Avenue Methodist Church in Jersey City. Marianne Borgen (born 2 June 1951) is a Norwegian politician for the Socialist Left Party, and the current Mayor of Oslo. She finished her secondary education at Sofienberg Upper Secondary School in 1975, graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.mag. degree in 1975 and the cand.sociol. degree in 1979. Kjell Borgen (21 October 1939 – 22 August 1996) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He served as Minister of Transport and Communications from 1986 to 1988, Minister of Local Government from 1988 to 1989 and again from 1990 to 1992.
