Nils Thore "Nick" Borgen, born 5 January 1952 in Andenes, Nordland, is a Norwegian–Swedish musician, singer and writer (debut novel: " Den okända soldaten", 2009). Andenes
is the administrative centre of Andøy Municipality which is located in the Vesterålen district of Nordland county, Norway. The village of Andenes is the northernmost settlement of the island of Andøya (and in Nordland county). To the east is the island of Senja (in Troms county), and to the west the endless horizon of the North Atlantic Ocean. Andenes Lighthouse sits along the harbor and can be seen for long distances. "We Are All the Winners" is a song mixing lyrics in English and Swedish. Written by Nick Borgen, it was and performed by himself at Melodifestivalen 1993, where it ended up second behind Arvingarna's Eloise. With the song, however, Nick Borgen scored a huge 1993 hit in Sweden, peaking at 17th position at the Swedish singles chart, and staying at Svensktoppen for 23 weeks between 11 April-11 September 1993, topping the chart during the first 14 weeks. During the original performance, Erica Johansson, Frida Johansson and Maria Akraka appeared as background singers, under the name "Team Sweden". While the song's lyrics describes a man standing outdoors playing the accordion in all types of weather, the song has later become heavily associated with sports. "Den glider in" is a song written by Peter Karlsson, acting as fight song for the Sweden men's national ice hockey team during the 1995 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship in Sweden. Nick Borgen recorded the song with the players, and released it as a promo single. The song has later become popular as played when the home team scores. The words ''Den glider in'' originate from a famous call by Swedish radio reporter Lennart Hyland. During the Sweden vs Canada match in the 1962 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship, Nils Nilsson scored the final goal into an empty net, sealing the Swedes' 5-3 victory. Sweden would go on to win the entire tournament. The song also became a Svensktoppen hit, charting between 29 April-6 May 1995, with a first position followed up with a third position.
