Tove Anna Linnéa Östman Styrke (; born 19 November 1992) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She gained popularity as a contestant on '' Swedish Idol 2009'', finishing in third place. After the show, she started a solo career in electropop. She released her debut album ''Tove Styrke'' in 2010. The ''New York Post'' included Styrke in its list of "10 Artists to Know in 2011". In 2015, she released her second album, ''Kiddo''. Three years later, in 2018, she released her third album, '' Sway''. ''Tove Styrke'' is the self-titled debut studio album by Swedish electropop singer Tove Styrke. The album was released on 12 November 2010 on Sony Music. It debuted at number 21 in Swedish charts and went up to 10th place in its second week. Most tracks have been written by Tove Styrke, Patrik Berger, Peter Ågren and Janne Kask. On 10 October 2011, the album was re-released with the new single "Call My Name" and a 2011 remake of "High and Low". ''Kiddo'' is the second studio album by Swedish electropop singer Tove Styrke. It was released on 8 June 2015 by Sony Music. The album includes all five original songs from the EP ''Borderline''. Background The title ''Kiddo'' is a direct reference to Beatrix Kiddo from the ''Kill Bill'' films. According to Styrke: "I like her character a lot — she's empowering and cool. Kill Bill was an influence from some of the songs n the album and especially in the beginning of the creative process of this album. I also have a love-hate relationship with the word "kiddo," it's something that people say in a demeaning manner. I felt if I took that word and used it almost as a superhero name, then I would take the power away from them and use it as a strength.
