Boot Camp Clik
Boot Camp Clik is an American hip hop supergroup from Brooklyn, New York City, which is composed of Buckshot (of Black Moon), Smif-N-Wessun ( Tek and Steele), Heltah Skeltah ( Rockness Monsta and Sean Price) and O.G.C. (Starang Wondah, Top Dog, and Louieville Sluggah). Most of the members are from Brownsville, but Buckshot is from Crown Heights and Tek is from Bedford-Stuyvesant. History 1992 to 1996 Black Moon debuted in 1992 with the release of the single "Who Got Da Props?". The song became something of an underground phenomenon, and was also able to receive minor crossover success, charting on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 at #86. The popularity of the single lead to a record deal with Nervous Wreck Records, which released the group's debut album '' Enta Da Stage'' in late 1993. The album was produced entirely by Evil Dee and Mr. Walt of Da Beatminerz, and featured the debut of Camp members Smif-N-Wessun, as well as an early appearance from Mobb Deep's Havoc. ''Enta Da ... Nottz
Dominick J. Lamb, (born February 21, 1977) better known by his stage name Nottz (or Nottz Raw), is an American hip hop producer and rapper from Norfolk, Virginia. Life and career Some of Nottz's earliest production work was on the Rawkus Records compilation '' Lyricist Lounge, Volume One'', in 1998. From there he landed three tracks on Busta Rhymes' '' Extinction level Event'' LP, after Rhymes stumbled across one of his beat tapes. Like many other hip hop producers to emerge before the 2000s, Nottz samples from old (primarily soul) records and film soundtracks to reconstruct new beats. West Coast hip hop icon, Dr. Dre, has named Nottz as one of his favorite producers, and has selected him as one of the few guest producers on his much delayed, yet anticipated '' Detox'' album that never was released. A supergroup is a musical group formed of members who are already successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups. The term became popular in the late 1960s when members of already successful rock groups Collaborative_album, recorded albums together, after which they normally disbanded. Charity supergroups, in which prominent musicians perform or record together in support of a particular cause, have been common since the 1980s. Sean Duval Price (March 17, 1972August 8, 2015) was an American rapper and member of the hip hop collective Boot Camp Clik. He was one half of the duo Heltah Skeltah, performing under the name Ruck, along with partner Rock. Early life and education Growing up in the borough of Brooklyn, Price was a member of the Decepticons in high school. Career A member of the underground hip hop collective Boot Camp Clik, Price first appeared on Smif-N-Wessun's 1995 album '' Dah Shinin'''. Smif-N-Wessun, also known as Cocoa Brovaz and Tek-N-Steele, is an American hip hop duo from Brooklyn, New York City. It is composed of rappers Tekomin "Tek" Williams (born June 3, 1973) from Bedford–Stuyvesant and Darrell "Steele" Yates (born December 18, 1972) from Brownsville. The duo comprise one quarter of supergroup Boot Camp Clik, together with Buckshot, Heltah Skeltah and Originoo Gunn Clappaz. Both members are known for their Jamaican Patois during their raps, which was more evident during the earlier stages of their career. Heltah Skeltah was an American Hip hop music, hip hop duo which consisted of rappers Jahmal "Rock" Bush and Sean Price, Sean "Ruck" Price. The two were also members of New York Supergroup (music), supergroup Boot Camp Clik, along with Buckshot (rapper), Buckshot, Smif-N-Wessun and O.G.C. Biography Heltah Skeltah debuted on Smif-N-Wessun's album ''Dah Shinin''' in 1995, appearing on the tracks "Wontime", "Cession at da Doghillee" and "Let's Git It On".
