Franco Andrea Bonelli
Franco Andrea Bonelli (10 November 1784 – 18 November 1830) was an Italian ornithologist, entomologist and collector. Life Very little is known about the early life of Bonelli: he was born in Cuneo and was interested from an early age in the fauna which surrounded him, making collecting trips, preparing specimens and noting his observations. He became a member of the Reale Società Agraria di Torino in 1807 when he presented his first studies relating to the Coleoptera of Piedmont. The high quality of these studies attracted the interest of the naturalists of his time. In April 1810, George Vat was sent to Turin by the French government to reorganize the University of Turin and begin its fusion with the Impériale University founded by Napoleon. Vat was very impressed by Bonelli's knowledge. Vat encouraged him to further his knowledge by coming to follow courses at the Natural History Museum in Paris. Bonelli Landing, Lake Mead
Bonelli's Ferry or Old Bonelli Ferry was a Colorado River ferry between Arizona and Nevada. It was located on the Colorado just above the Virgin River, near Junction City. The latter was later known as Rioville, Nevada in the late nineteenth century. Both the former sites of the ferry and of Rioville were submerged below Lake Mead, created by a dam on the Colorado River. History Bonelli's Ferry replaced Stone's Ferry, 2 miles down river, which was a flatboat ferry established in 1871. Ferry rights were sold to James Thompson who, in 1870, sold them to Daniel Bonelli, a Swiss immigrant and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from St. Thomas, Nevada. Bonelli moved his ferry operation up river to near Junction City in 1876, at the mouth of the Virgin River. Federico Bonelli
Federico Bonelli (Genoa, 1978) is an Italian ballet dancer and was a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in London, England. He became the artistic director of Northern Ballet in May 2022. Biography Federico Bonelli was born in Genoa, Italy. He trained in classical ballet at the Turin Dance Academy before graduating into the Zurich Ballet, at the Zurich Opera House in Zürich, Switzerland. After three years in Zurich, Bonelli joined Dutch National Ballet based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In September 2003, Bonelli became a principal dancer of the Royal Ballet. Giovanni Luigi Bonelli (22 December 1908 – 12 January 2001) was an Italian comic book author and publisher, best remembered as the co-creator of ''Tex Willer'' in 1948, together with artist Aurelio Galleppini. Career Bonelli was born in Milan. He founded Casa Audace Editrice, later to be known as Sergio Bonelli Editore, in 1940. In 1948 he created ''Occhio Cupo'' and ''Tex Willer'' (both drawn by Galleppini). ''Tex Willer'' is among the most popular characters of Italian comics, with translations to numerous languages all around the world. Maria Luisa Righini-Bonelli
Maria Luisa Righini-Bonelli (November 11, 1917 – December 18, 1981) was an Italian science historian and educator. The daughter of General Luigi Bonelli and Adele Giamperoli, she was born Maria Luisa Bonelli in Pesaro. She studied Spanish language and literature and then taught in the faculty of political science at the University of Florence from 1948 to 1968. She worked with at the Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza beginning in 1942. In 1961, she became director of the institute after Corsini died. Righini-Bonelli saved most of the important treasures of the institute during the Flood of Florence in 1966. She was a professor of the history of science for the University of Camerino from 1972 to 1981. She served as vice-president of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science. Sergio Bonelli (2 December 1932 – 26 September 2011) was an Italian comic book writer and publisher. He is best known as creator of '' Zagor'' (1961) and '' Mister No'' (1975), as well as a comics publisher through the publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore. He was born in Milan, the son of Gian Luigi Bonelli, the creator of ''Tex Willer'' and many other Italian comic strips. In order to distinguish himself from his father, he usually wrote his scripts under the pen name Guido Nolitta. He made his debut as a scriptwriter in 1957, with the translation into Italian of the Spanish series '' Verdugo Ranch'', for which he wrote the final episode (artwork by Franco Bignotti). Carlo Michele Bonelli, Cardinal Alessandrino (25 November 1541– 28 March 1598) was an Italian senior papal diplomat with a distinguished career that spanned two decades from 1571. James Henry Bonella (17 December 1884 – 24 May 1918) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL), under the name of Jim Bonelli. He died of gunshot wounds received whilst on active service in France during World War I. Carlo Bonelli (1612–1676) was an Italian lawyer and diplomat who was appointed a cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church in 1664. Life Carlo Bonelli dei marchesi di Cassano was born in 1612, the great-great-grand-nephew of Pope Pius V. He received his doctorate in law from the University of Perugia and was appointed private chamberlain to Pope Urban VIII. Aurelio Bonelli (c.1569 – after 1620) was an Italian composer, organist and painter. Born in Bologna, practically nothing is known about him save that he was student of the painter Agostino Carracci. After Adriano Banchieri moved to Imola in 1601 Bonelli took his job as organist at San Michele in Bosco. Towards 1600 Bonelli is known to have been working as organist in Milan. Ernest Bernard Bonelli (July 27, 1919 – October 12, 2009) was an American football player for the Chicago Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. Early life He won a football scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh, where he played fullback and defensive back for coach Jock Sutherland. In 1941, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served as a radar operator on B-17 bombers. In 1942, he was part of the invasion of North Africa at Casablanca. He also played football for the Third Air Force Gremlins, sharing the backfield with Charley Trippi. After World War II ended, he returned to Pittsburgh and played in the 1945 College All-Star Game.
