Bonaparti.lv
Bonaparti.lv was a sextet consisting of Latvian tenors, that participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with their song "Questa Notte" (Tonight). In 2006, Sweden, Swedish composer Kjell Jennstig composed a song named "Tonight", which he handed it in to Eirodziesma 2007 - the Latvian national qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest. The rules of Eirodziesma envisages, that there must be Latvian artists, so Jennstig found six Latvian tenors, who founded the new band - Bonaparti.lv. The members of this project are three members of Latvian band "Labvēlīgais Tips", Normunds Jakušonoks, Kaspars Tīmanis and Andris Ābelīte, lead singer of "Bet Bet" Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, lead singer of "Cacao (band), Cacao" Andris Ērglis, and Roberto Meloni (singer), Roberto Meloni, an Italian-born Latvian immigrant who was originally entered in Eirodziesma 2007 with "Feels Like Heaven" a duet performed with Stacey (singer), Stacey (as a result of Meloni's recruitment for Bonaparti.lv "Fe ...

Eirodziesma 2007
Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Questa notte" written by Kjell Jennstig, Torbjörn Wassenius and Francesca Russo. The song was performed by the group Bonaparti.lv. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final ''Eirodziesma 2007'' in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. Twenty songs were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. In the semi-finals on 27 January and 3 February 2007, five entries were selected to advance from each show: three entries selected based on a public televote and two entries selected by a seven-member jury panel. Ten songs ultimately qualified to compete in the final on 1 March 2008 where two rounds of public voting selected "Questa notte" performed by Bonaparti.lv as the winner. Latvia In The Eurovision Song Contest
Latvia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 22 times since making its debut at the contest in 2000, where the group Brainstorm finished third with the song " My Star". Latvia won the contest in 2002, with Marie N and the song " I Wanna", defeating Malta by 12 points. Latvia is the second former Soviet country to win the contest. The 2003 contest was held in the Latvian capital Riga. The country achieved its third top 10 result in , when Walters and Kazha finished fifth with "The War Is Not Over". Eurovision Song Contest 2007
The Eurovision Song Contest 2007 was the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Helsinki, Finland, following the country's victory at the with the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle), the contest was held at the Hartwall Areena, and consisted of a semi-final on 10 May, and a final on 12 May 2007. Kjell Jennstig
Kjell Jennstig (born February 17, 1960) is a Swedish musician and composer/songwriter. As a musician he is mostly known as guitarist in Swedish motorcycle group, Kenneth & the Knutters. As a composer/songwriter, he has written for a number of Swedish performers, including Carina Jaarnek, Caracola, Grönwalls, Blender and Caroline Wennergren. Jennstig has participated three times in the Latvian Eurovision Song Contest preselection competition, ''Eirodziesma'': * In 2007, his song "Questa Notte", written together with Torbjörn Wassenius and Fransesca Russo and performed by Bonaparti.lv, won the competition. The song was then in the Eurovision Song Contest final in Helsinki where it ended 16th. * In 2008, his song "You really got me going" ended second. Pirates Of The Sea
Pirates of the Sea is a musical project that in May 2008 represented Latvia in Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Serbia with their song " Wolves of the Sea". It consists of three members: Italian singer Roberto Meloni who is living in Latvia, dancer Aleksandra Kurusova as well as the TV and radio person Jānis Vaišļa. Meloni also represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 as a part of Bonaparti.lv. The song "Wolves of the Sea" was written by four Swedish composers: Jonas Liberg, Johan Sahlen, Claes Andreasson and Torbjörn Wassenius. On February 2, Pirates won the first semi-final of the national finals, getting 12 010 televotes - the best result of both semi-finals. Cosmos (band)
Cosmos was a Latvian a cappella band that formed in Riga in 2002. The band comprised singers Jānis Šipkēvics, Andris Sējāns (both countertenors), Juris Lisenko (tenor), Jānis Ozols (baritone), Jānis Strazdiņš ( bass) and Reinis Sējāns (rhythm). Cosmos gained national and international recognition after they were chosen to represent Latvia in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest held in Athens, Greece with the song "I Hear Your Heart".
