Bolueta (Bilbao Metro)
Bolueta is a station on lines 1 and 2 of the Bilbao metro. The station is located in the neighborhood of the same name, in the district of Begoña. It opened on 5 July 1997. Until 2019 it was also served by suburban Euskotren Trena trains coming from Durango, Bermeo and San Sebastián. Between 2017 and 2019, these lines were diverted through line 3 of the metro, completely bypassing Bolueta. In 2022, the Bilbao tram reached Bolueta along the disused railway corridor. Station layout Bolueta is an elevated station, with two platforms located above a main entry hall. The station can be accessed from Otxarkoaga and Ibarsusi streets. Ibaiondo is the fifth district of the city of Bilbao (Biscay), in the Spanish Basque Country. ''Ibaiondo'' is a recently used name that means 'beside the river' in Basque. It is divided into the neighbourhoods of Atxuri, Bilbo Zarra, Casco Viejo, Iturralde, Abusu, San Adrián, San Francisco, Solokoetxe, Miribilla and Zabala. Abando, formerly known as ''San Vicente de Abando'', is one of the eight districts of Bilbao, Basque Country (Spain). It covers most of the city's centre, located on the left bank of the estuary of Bilbao. It is the only district of Bilbao with all of its land completely urbanised. Bilbobus
Bilbobus is the name for metropolitan bus services in Bilbao. The service is owned by the city council of Bilbao. Operations will be transferred to Veolia Transport, the company that won the contract in May 2008. The buses can be distinguished by their red colour and large white lettering, and there are 28 major lines serving the city, with eight smaller lines connecting the town centre with neighborhoods with narrow streets where normal buses can't drive. Plus eight night lines, called Gautxori. Bilbobus has recently won a European Union prize for service excellence. It is part of a wider transport network operated by the Basque government, recent additions to which include the Metro Bilbao underground and the tram line. Kabiezes (Bilbao Metro)
Kabiezes is the northern terminus of line 2 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the neighborhood of Kabiezes, in the municipality of Santurtzi. Construction of the station and the track between Santurtzi and Kabiezes began in 2009 and was delayed after a mudslide flooded the tunnel connecting both stations. It opened on 28 June 2014. Basauri (Bilbao Metro)
Basauri is the southern terminus of line 2 of the Bilbao metro. The station is located in the municipality of Basauri, part of the Bilbao metropolitan area. It opened in 2011. The CercanÃas Bilbao commuter railway network (operated by Renfe) also has a Basauri station on its C3 line, but they are not at the same location – there is a distance of about between them, with the CercanÃas station serving the industrial area to the south of the town, including the large steel facility. Plentzia is the northern terminus of line 1 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the municipality of Plentzia. The station opened as part of the metro network on 11 November 1995, although it had already been serving as a railway station since the 19th century. History The railway station of Plentzia, originally named ''Plencia'', was first opened on 15 September 1893 by the Las Arenas-Plencia Railway Company. Ibarbengoa is a station on line 1 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the neighbourhood of Andra Mari, in the municipality of Getxo. The station was constructed to serve the northernmost part of Getxo and to become the northern terminus of services terminating in Getxo. Etxebarri (Bilbao Metro)
Etxebarri is a station on lines 1 and 2 of the Bilbao metro. It is the southern terminus of line 1. The station is located in the municipality of Etxebarri, part of the Bilbao metropolitan area. Euskotren, formally known as Basque Railways ( eu, Eusko Trenbideak, es, Ferrocarriles Vascos), is a public railway company controlled by the Basque Government and officially established in 1982 to operate several narrow gauge railways inside the autonomous community of the Basque Country, under the terms of the Statute of Autonomy of the Basque Country.
