Boinka, Victoria
Boinka is a locality situated on the section of the Mallee Highway and Pinnaroo railway line between Ouyen and the South Australian border in the Sunraysia region of Victoria, Australia. Boinka is situated approximately 4 kilometres east from Tutye and 8 kilometres west from Linga. The name Boinka means "flat black beetle" in the language of the indigenous people of Lake Hindmarsh. The location has a rich history of settlement and is the subject of a photograph collection within the archives of the Museum of Victoria. The Boinka State School (No 3800) is listed as a part of Heritage Victoria – owned by the Crown Reserve and managed by Rural City Council of Mildura. The township was established in the early 1910s, and the Post Office opened on 15 July 1912 when a regular mail service was provided by the opening of the railway from Ouyen to Murrayville a month earlier. Myoporum
''Myoporum'' is a genus of flowering plants in the figwort family, Scrophulariaceae (formerly placed in Myoporaceae). Murrayville, Victoria
Murrayville is a town on the section of the Mallee Highway and Pinnaroo railway line between Ouyen and the South Australian border. It is about east of the South Australian border and north west of the state capital Melbourne, but east of Adelaide. At the 2016 census, Murrayville had a population of 280, down from 444 ten years before. The local school, Murrayville Community College is a P-12 school. History The Post Office opened on 1 November 1910. The Murrayville railway station opened in 1912 but is no longer used for passengers. The area of the locality contains a number of smaller areas namely Duddo which had a post office open from 1913 until 1918, Duddo Wells with a post office from 1914 until 1950, Danyo with a post office from 1912 (when the railway arrived) until 1975, and Goongee. Lake Hindmarsh
Lake Hindmarsh, an ephemeral lake located in the Wimmera region of western Victoria, Australia, is the state's largest natural freshwater lake. The nearest towns are Jeparit to the south and Rainbow to the north. After more than a decade of drought, in early 2011 the lake filled as a result of flooding in the region. The Wemba Wemba name of the lake is recorded as ''Gour'' or ''Koor''. Sunraysia is an illdefined district, sometimes incorrectly referred to as an economic region, located in northwestern Victoria and southwestern New South Wales in Australia. The region is renowned for its sunshine, intensive horticulture including grapes and oranges, and grain farms. Its main centre is Mildura, Victoria.
